**JOB VACANCY: MALE MATRON**
**Location:** Nakuru, Kenya
**Organization:** Children's Home Based in Nakuru City.
We are seeking a dedicated, mature, and compassionate **Male Matron** to join our team and provide care, guidance, and supervision to children and teenagers residing in our Children's Home.
# # # Position Summary
The Male Matron will be responsible for the welfare, discipline, mentorship, and day-to-day supervision of male children and teenagers within the home. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that promotes positive growth and development.
# # # Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and oversee the daily activities of children and teenagers under his care.
* Maintain discipline while promoting positive behavior and character development.
* Provide mentorship, counseling, and emotional support to children and adolescents.
* Ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of all children at all times.
* Assist in implementing house rules, routines, and schedules.
* Monitor school attendance, academic progress, and extracurricular participation.
* Foster a supportive and family-like environment within the home.
* Handle conflicts and behavioral challenges professionally and constructively.
* Maintain proper records and reports relating to the children under his care.
* Collaborate with social workers, caregivers, teachers, and management to support children's development.
* Accompany children to school, medical appointments, and other activities when required.
# # # Qualifications and Requirements
* Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Education, Child Development, Community Development, or a related field.
* Previous experience working in a children's home, boarding school, rehabilitation center, youth program, or similar institution will be an added advantage.
* Strong ability to mentor, guide, and positively influence teenagers.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain discipline while exercising patience, understanding, and professionalism.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* High level of integrity, responsibility, and emotional maturity.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when required.
* Must possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
