📢To all our trainees,
This post is to raise awareness regarding some of Japan’s rules on nature conservation and public park etiquette.
🚫 1. Illegal Fishing (Poaching) in Japan
In Japan, illegal fishing (poaching) is strictly prohibited not only in the sea but also in rivers, mountains, and forest areas. This includes:
• Catching fish, shellfish, crabs, eels, or other aquatic animals without permission
• Fishing in prohibited areas or during restricted seasons
• Taking protected species or undersized fish and shellfish
• Collecting wild plants, mushrooms, insects, or animals from protected areas without authorization
• Hunting or trapping wild animals without proper licenses
🌳 2. Rules in Public Parks
Parks are public spaces intended for everyone to enjoy safely and respectfully. When visiting parks, please observe the following rules:
❌ Do not catch birds, fish, turtles, insects, or other animals
❌ Do not pick flowers, plants, fruits, leaves, or branches
❌ Do not fish in park ponds
❌ Do not have barbecues except in designated areas
❌ Do not use fireworks except in designated areas
❌ Do not make excessive noise, especially at night
❌ Do not litter – take all garbage home with you
❌ Do not use fire or open flames in prohibited areas
Please carefully review the attached images and ensure that you follow these rules at all times.
Thank you for your cooperation.
