💡Did you know that Japan has canned bread that can last up to 3 whole years?

This bread was created by Akimoto Yoshihiko of Pan Akimoto Co., Ltd. It is based in Nasu-Shiobara City in Tochigi Prefecture and was established in 1947. Akimoto's inspiration and motivation for this bread is The Great Hanshin earthquake in 1995. Akimoto tried various methods to make this bread last longer, and after more than a year of trying, he finally succeeded.

Now, he even has a factory in Okinawa where he produces this bread and exporting them for people all over the world to enjoy.

If you visit Akihabara, you can find this delicious bread with anime characters printed on the label under the brand name "PAN AKIMOTO".
Later, their canned bread was accepted as official astronaut food.

Here is a quick trivia for you!

If the majority of us get a present on Christmas, for sure we will quickly open them in front of the giver to show them how happy and excited we are, right?
However, gift-giving in Japan is quite different from other cultures.
Opening a gift in front of the giver is considered impolite. Gift wrapping is seen as an art form and is expected to be neat, precise, and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.

If you're planning to give or receive gifts in Japan, here are some friendly etiquette tips to keep in mind:
1. To show respect, it's best to present your gift at the end of your meeting or gathering.
2. It's considered polite to refuse a gift at least twice before accepting it.
3. To avoid making others feel uncomfortable, it's best not to open your gift in front of a large group of people. Instead, receive the gift graciously and open it in private.
4. If you receive a gift, it is a good idea to reciprocate with a gift of your own to show your appreciation.
