Kita bertengkar, kita bermasam muka, kita berlainan pendapat namun bersyukurlah kerana kita masih aman di bumi Malaysia ini. 60 tahun kita Merdeka tetapi di luar sana, ada saudara kita yang masih berperang bertumpah darah. Sayu melihat nasib mereka ini, kumpulan manusia paling ramai di dunia yang tidak berwarganegara

We bicker, we get upset, we have different opinions. Regardless, we are grateful for the peace we have in Malaysia. While we have been Independent for 60 years, there is still blood being spilt around us owing to unresolved conflicts. Their conditions saddens us, the largest group of stateless people in the world.

We share deep concern with regards to the recent alleged escalation of violence due to the operation of the security forces by one of our ASEAN nation that took action on the perpetrators of an attack. We strongly believe jeopardizing humanitarian factor should not be a consequence of any security measures taken by any Government in the World especially by our regional counterparts.

The complex situation in Rakhine can greatly impact the security and stability of the region. More people in Rakhine will become increasingly vulnerable to recruitment by extremists and more Rohingyas will also flee to neighboring countries including Malaysia. We urge the issue to be addressed and highly appreciate the assistance and efforts offered from other ASEAN Member States especially the Government of Malaysia to overcome the complex challenges in the Rakhine State. Myanmar's Nobel peace laureate, Aung San Suu Kyi needs to raise the community voice in support of the Rohingya plight and denounce the acts by the government.

Although ASEAN's guiding principle of non-intervention of the 1976 ASEAN Charter would restrict interference in each others affairs, the Member States are still bound by the international principles of protection and promotion of human rights, which is enshrined in the ASEAN Charter. ASEAN should start to work on regional humanitarian issues, security promotion, conflict prevention and preventive diplomacy to prevent disputes, conflicts and violence and address problems that not only results local consequences, but much worse regional effects. ASEAN Member States should start coordinating aid and consensus to solve Rakhine conflicts not only by stand-alone country but as one ASEAN Community voice.

We urge that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to also convene another special meeting to address the issue seriously and to take action in due course. We also demand that unimpeded humanitarian access to be given to those affected by the current situation in Rakhine, apart from the much needed attention from the United Nations (UN) to address this issue globally. Acceptance of diversity, rather than tolerance, is the key to peaceful co-existence. It is about mutual understanding and the celebration of the rich dimensions of diversity and moderation that enriches and strengthens the fabric of life. In the long run, information should be disseminated on how a multi-religious and multi-cultural community can live peacefully.

Yesterday, 8th of August 2017, was a memorable day indeed for the people of ASEAN. Exactly 50 years ago, the founding fathers of ASEAN laid the foundations to one of the most dynamic regional community in the world. ASEAN today is a game changer, an economic powerhouse and a place we call home.

Yesterday in Malaysia, we witnessed the 10 days countdown to the 29th SEA Games that will be held in Kuala Lumpur. At the SEA Games that will start on the 19th of August 2017, ASEAN will witness the bond that we have created between us through sports. It is a living proof that the ASEAN spirit and ASEAN community lives on even 50 years later.

It is high time that we embrace and hold firmly to the values of ASEAN. The values that define who we are as Southeast Asian's. But most importantly, never forget the hard work of our forefathers. Always remember that the reason we live in a peaceful country and region today is because of them.

Tun Abdul Razak, a Founding Father of ASEAN , believes that the future of ASEAN and our common destiny as the people of ASEAN is shaped by every generation.

Isu-isu yang dibincangkan termasuklah isu seperti keselamatan kawasan perairan negara, isu IS dan banyak lagi. Kami juga sempat berbincang bagaimana belia dan anak muda dapat turut sama dalam mempertahankan keamanan & kedaulatan Malaysia yang tercinta. Terima kasih Datuk Seri atas peluang ini. Our team member Danial Khaleq Mohd Ali is in Seoul, Korea right now. On behalf of the team, he gave an Introduction Letter for The International Relations & Diplomacy Committee, Malaysian Youth Parliament to the Ambassador of Malaysia to South Korea.

We hope that we are able to engage with more embassies local and abroad to discuss issues, especially the ones which affects the youth for the betterment of the country.
