me a platform for women artisans from all over Afghanistan, a recognised standard for quality Afghan handicrafts and a primary resource and advocate for Afghan artisans across the country. afsaana was established in 2014 as an initiative of women’s self help groups in Faryab and Balkh provinces, northwest Afghanistan, to provide a vehicle for the promotion and marketing of the handicrafts in a country where women are generally excluded from the paid workforce.
