Sealdah metro station 🚇 of the Kolkata East-West Metro Corridor, inaugurated by Union Minister Smriti Irani on Monday, which will help ths daily commuters in the busy route.

Commercial services at the Sealdah Metro station, connecting the IT hub of Sector V, will begin on July 14.

CRS Md Latief Khan finished his two-days inspection of the Phoolbagan-Sealdah section on 16th & 17th April.

Commuters can travel 10km in 20 minutes once this seventh stop is added to the East-West corridor.

East-West Metro’s Sealdah link got the fire safety clearance ahead of Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) inspection.

Trains now run on a truncated corridor of around 7km between Sector V and Phoolbagan and can operate till Sealdah only after the CRS, the autonomous body under the ministry of civil aviation that sanctions any new Metro project in India, gives its approval.
