Senior Food Chemist – NIP & Wet Chemistry Specialist.
Location: Australia

We are seeking an experienced Senior Food Chemist to join our food testing laboratory in Australia. This role requires strong expertise in Nutrition Information Panel (NIP) analysis, wet chemistry, and analytical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Nutrition Information Panel (NIP) testing in compliance with FSANZ requirements
Perform wet chemistry analysis for nutritional parameters including protein, fat, carbohydrates, sugars, sodium, moisture, and ash
Carry out manual titrations and classical chemical methods
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GC and HPLC instruments
Perform water chemistry testing
Conduct heavy metal analysis
Calculate, verify, and report nutritional values for food labels
Ensure quality control, method validation, and accurate documentation
Troubleshoot analytical methods, instrumentation, and non-conforming results
Mentor and support junior laboratory staff
Ensure compliance with ISO NABL laboratory standards
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in a food or analytical testing laboratory
Strong expertise in NIP and nutritional panel analysis
Extensive experience in wet food chemistry
Proven ability with GC, HPLC, titrations, and heavy metal analysis
Knowledge of water chemistry
Capable of independently troubleshooting complex analytical and instrumental issues
Strong analytical thinking, documentation, and problem-solving skills
