Iro Iro

Iro Iro handmade | zero-waste | conscious Iro iro in Japanese means a variety, many ways, many kinds
We are based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

Every Iro iro product is made using the pre-consumer waste fabric, hand-woven into new fabric. Zero-waste pattern cutting technique has been applied. These products consume waste fabric (that otherwise would have been dumped in land fills) and creates zero-waste. The value chain shaped creates employment and empowers women. Irō Irō skills have been applied to make sure the creation is of best qual

ity, has elevated craftsmanship, and is sustainable, conscious, ethical and versatile. The creations have been through a unique adventure, a journey of their own. From landfills, to the floors of the cutting rooms, from being expensive handkerchief to piles of scrap, and now to personal treasures and items of value, like a museum artifact.

We recently received great remarks from a customer from our POP-UP with Chal Shoes at Jaipur Literary Festival 2023 regarding one of our overcoats. Seeing such feedback even after three years of a purchase constantly motivates us to produce quality and promote our vision, re-engineering from waste. Thankyou for your love!

09/04/2026

When the world enters war, and loss fills the air, we find ourselves creating from what remains - as we have for a long time. But now we find ourselves at a new question: does the world need something new, or a regeneration of what is already left behind?

It is something we are already practising, yet we remain a small part of a much larger whole - trying, in our own ways, to step into change. Perhaps what the world truly needs is not more competition, but a shift in perspective - a nurturing community, for the people, of the people, and by the people.

And yet, we witness a parallel reality unfolding - one that moves away from nurture, even in times that demand it most. This brings us to ask: where do we stand in making that shift, sitting here in Jaipur, a small fragment of the globe? Can something so small ripple outward? Does it hold weight against such vast ruins?

The questions may be endless - but so must be our responsibility to respond to them.
