I would begin 2026 by sharing three good news with all my partners, customers and friends.

🇺🇲 The White House will soon remove the RECIPROCAL TARIFFS on GUATEMALA 🇬🇹 and EL SALVADOR 🇳🇮 making them the first two countries in the world with ZERO TARIFFS. One of my clients who has invested in a textiles manufacturing facility in Africa since 2010 has expressed interest to diversify and explore investing in Americas as early as March 2026. In line with DR - CAFTA, we see this move as an opportunity of collaboration for all who manufacture and sell cotton and polyester yarn in Americas. I can name Parkdale Mills, Inc. , Unifi Manufacturing, Inc. (makers of REPREVE® ) , GRUPO IMPERIAL TEXTIL ,etc.

The OTEXA or the Office of Textiles and Apparel , Department of Trade 🇺🇲 has published monthly data on the import figures of numerous garment categories of all countries. We notice that many figures of Pakistan are good and healthy. With a good base of cotton farming, we see Pakistan to be one of the top 10 export countries to USA with double digit growth. PERM will be travelling to Pakistan exploring opportunities for trade and investment as early as January / February 2026.

The global zipper market is about the size of US$5 billion. Right now , the leader is from Japan. The #1 non-Japanese leader has just signed off a US$35 million investment in Vietnam in December 2025. PERM is happy to explore trade and investment opportunities for the same company in Americas and Africa.

Shanghaitex is an EXPO and a brand established in 1984. It is an Expo for textile machinery and much much more.

PERM Co. Ltd. Hong Kong SAR is the proud consultant to Shanghaitex 2025 , held at Shanghai between December 16 and 19, 2025.

Since our appointment in September 2025, PERM has launched a campaign global invitation and communication.

As of now, close to 40000 owners, executives, professionals and practitioners in my apparel and textiles industry have signed up. Over 350 exhibitors will be showcasing their latest seen and unseen in Expo held in Singapore, Asia and the rest of the world this year.

PERM spearheaded a Forum Titled: Go Overseas, Land, Produce and Prosper. This was meant to give all participants my experience as I travel around the world tackling POST RECIPROCAL TARIFFS challenges for my valued clients and insights of brands's global sourcing strategy.

💥💥💥 My team at Shanghaitex said over 150 participants have signed up and several prominent organisations , leaders and executives from Asia , Americas and Africa have signed up and will talk as well.💥💥💥

Due to the Seasons and various factors, some have indicated they will support but cannot attend in person. Some have indicated that Christmas is coming and they can only attend virtually. Some would join our Forum but due to time difference have to reconsider. A few others would like to join in the same in 2026. A country in Central America has told me that they were at Shanghai's China International Import Expo and will close the year this way. That Scandinavian fast fashion giant has given me the support and will send a small team. A few others have given me the strong support and will come as a high level delegation. They include the Head of a Diplomatic Mission from Americas and Head of a leading Chamber of Commerce in Asia and their Directors from the Board.

❤️BOTTOMLINE :

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Shanghaitex 2025 has decided that SHANGHAITEX will, as a tradition, extend our Shanghaiese Hospitality to all who will come in person.

In the next few days, I will be sending emails to your honourable offices our final arrangements. Thank you and thank you for making this another phenomenal event in China in 2025.
