Packaging and Turnkey Solutions
Packaging and turnkey solutions teams work with customers from concept to creation toproduce inspiring product solutions that capture the essence of their brand. This includesresearch and development of formulations and packaging through our owned or partnermanufacturing facilities.
Retail Solutions
The company creates bespoke solutions for our customers to understand in-store consumerbehavior and optimize the retail environment for the benefit of the end consumer and thecustomer. Blending together traditional point of sale, IOT, and data analytics capabilities, thecompany’s focus is addressing customer business questions and providing them with tailoredinsights and measurable ROI.
The Position – Director, Regional Procurement (Chemicals)Based in Thailand or Indonesia, the successful candidate will report to the VP of Sourcingin Hong Kong. He/she will work independently to establish this new function serving theregional manufacturing sites in Thailand, Indonesia and China.
Specific Responsibilities
• Manage the strategic sourcing team and activities across multiple factories around theworld.
• Taking a holistic view of the overall direct material to spend across multiple factoriesto drive leverage on cost, service, quality, and lead time.
• Develop sourcing strategy across regional factories on various categories includingraw materials.
• Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies to ensure delivery of high-qualityraw materials and components and reliable services to support manufacturing andcapital projects across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Minimize commercial and manufacturing operations risks and disruptions through theimplementation and monitoring of contractual agreements to drive optimum supplierperformance through service level agreements and targets.
• Develop and foster long-term collaborative partnerships with principal suppliers todrive quality and improve efficiencies over time.
• Work closely with R&D and Product development teams to influence the selection ofmaterials and suppliers.
• Actively monitor the future of raw materials in the manufacturing process leveragingmarket insights to inform purchasing decisions and positioning the company tomaximize spending and cash flow.
• Develop and lead ex*****on of supplier negotiation strategy and processes through aproactive understanding of business strategy- align supplier & procurement strategyto business strategy.
• Establish, define and implement consistent processes, key ex*****on metrics andService Level Agreements (SLAs) across factories.
• Proactive cross-functional collaboration to identify, escalate, and recommendsolutions to resolve supplier service issues and contract performance associated withdelivering key SLAs and KPIs.
• Serve as an escalation point on supplier issues that could not be resolved at the factoryoperation level.
• Lead partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to identify new supplier andprocess improvement opportunities.
• Work with other functional teams and the supply base to develop target-cost and low cost alternatives. Understand all the components of related costs to know whereopportunities exist that need to be addressed. Regularly organize and conduct pricingbenchmarks and competitive analysis.
• Develop strategies by evaluating the annual spending of suppliers, and existing pieceprice/rates being paid today, and help develop should be cost models to be used incommercial negotiations.
• Lead engagement with business stakeholders, constructively challenge specificationsand manage business demand.
The Candidate
• At least 10 years of professional procurement experience in an MNC manufacturer
• Experience in managing regional procurement activities and vendors across countries.
• Experience working in a matrix organization.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP. Knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning process.
• Strong negotiation skills and a strong sense of integrity.
• Strong attention to detail, numeracy and analytical skills.
