FÖRCÈD TO MARRY AN ÖLD MAN AT AGE 14
WRITTEN BY: SAFIYA T IDRIS
EPISODE 11
When Bako got home, he made the house too hót for his wife and his children.
He kept thrèatning fîre and brîmstone until later that evening.
When Uwaliya summoned courage and decided to prepare dinner, Bako waited for her to make the fîre and she started preparing the meal before he kîcked the pot away from the fîre.
Uwaliya still couldn't say a word. Bako had that effect on his wife and children.
Instead of love and respect, they fèar him because he had decided to be a bèast in their lives. Written by Safiya T Idris.
Bako's younger children began to cry because they were hungry and they could not bear it like their older siblings yet Bako didn't care.
They could all go to hèll for all he care. Nothing really mattered to him than his own happiness.
Yes, Bako was that sèlfish.
Besides, he was hungry too, but he could still go out and eat Akara (Beans cake) when his wife and children must have gone to bed. They must feel the hèat of the mèss Halima had created.
No matter how late it got, Bako's Akara would still be waiting for him at Amina's place.
"Oh Amina, this must not happen to us." Bako said, almost in tears.
Whatever he meant, time shall tell.
He was still in a fóul mood when he heard the sound of a car at the front of his house.
His heart almost fèll out of his chest when he thought of who the person might be.
Bako didn't wait for the person to enter his compound, instead, he quickly went out to see the person.
His instinct was correct, who else would come to his house with a car if not Alhaji Bello.
"Alhaji, you are here? I was just about coming to your house again. I was there earlier but I didn't meet anyone. Welcome... welcome." Bako blàbbed immediately Alhaji Bello alighted from his car.
"My in law, you mean you came to my house. I am so sorry that I was not there to receive you." Alhaji Bello replied, putting Bako's mind at ease.
"If he is angry because of what happened, he wouldn't have called me his inlaw again would he?" Bako thought excitedly.
" It is okay Alhaji, no problem. Welcome. Good evening sir." Bako greeted with his hèad slightly bówed and his hand stretched so that he would receive a handshake from Alhaji Bello.
Alhaji Bello returned the favor with his head bówed too and his hand stretched for a handshake.
Bako was going to be his inlaw after all, so he just had to respect him even though he was older.
On the other hand, Bako was supposed to enjoy the respect he received from his supposed in-law without having to do anything, but there he was doing what his in-law was supposed to do.
"Come in, come in." Bako said as he led the way.
"Ali, bring everything at the back of the car bóot inside." Alhaji Bello said before he followed Bako into his compound.
"Uwaliya, Halima...Alhaji is here o. Come and greet him." Bako called out to his wife and his daughter as he repositioned the bench he wanted Alhaji Bello to sit on as if the position it was before wasn't good enough.
Alhaji Bello came to marry Uwaliya's daughter, so who was supposed to greet who?
Since money was involved, everything was happening upsidedown. The rules changed for Alhaji Bello.
Uwaliya quickly came out of her room and was almost on her knees when she greeted Alhaji Bello and he greeted her back, still sitting on the bench that Bako offered him earlier.
Alhaji Bello had a daughter that could be Uwaliya's age mate so he didn't think that it was necessary for him to respect her that much.
A few moments later, Halima walked out of her mother's room in fèar and greeted Alhaji Bello too.
She had to go down on both knees to greet Alhaji Bello when her father shóuted at her for not kneeling properly.
"Kai Halima, I didn't raise you like this fa. He is going to be your husband, so you should respect him even more than me your father." Bako said so many things while Halima remained kneeling.
"It's okay my in-law, Halima is just a child. She is new to this things, I am sure that with time she will learn." Alhaji Bello said, smiling as his eyes was glued to Halima. Even though the day was almost dark, he could still see her fine face.
The pedôphile just called Halima a child yet he wouldn't give up on marrying her.
A hypócrîte he was.
"No... don't say that Alhaji, she is old enough to know that she should please you whenever you want. I am sorry for her fóólishness, please forgive her. I am sure that what happened will not repeat itself again. I have scolded her for being stupîd Alhaji." Now Bako was apologizing for God knows what!
"It's okay, it's nothing hahahaha..." Alhaji Bello said, laughing nervously.
He knew what Bako was apologizing for and he was a bit embàrrassed.
He should be, because he also knew that he was being too forward.
"Halima, you should apologize too." Bako said.
"I am sorry Alhaji." Halima said, but deep down in her heart, she was so paîned.
Bako's heart leaped for joy as Ali kept bringing things into his compound. He couldn't wait to get a closer look at what Alhaji had brought for him.
"I will take my leave now. I will come here tomorrow with my people for the official introduction like we discussed." Alhaji Bello said as he stood up to leave.
"Okay Alhaji, we will prepare for your arrival." Bako promised.
"Halima, Halima... come and es**rt your husband to his car." Bako said to Halima who had gone inside to cry after her father made her apologize to Alhaji Bello.
She quietly walked out of her mother's room to avoid getting into another tróuble.
Her mother and her siblings would be going to bed on empty stomach because of her, she wouldn't want to add to their próblems. Written by Safiya T Idris
"Hajiya Halimatu Sadiya." Alhaji Bello hailed his wife to be as they walked out of her father's compound.
He was excited because it was dark already and he could just tóuch her a little outside. Not enough to scàre her away this time though.
Meanwhile, Bako was in the compound checking out the things Alhaji Bello brought for him without caring about what might be happening to his daughter outside.
