Career girl. High flying success. Loved every second.

Then I had a baby, and none of it mattered to me at all.

When it was time to go back, I asked for part-time. Rejected. I lasted exactly one week before I left for good.

I told myself that part of my life was over. That I couldn't have a career and be a mum. Obviously bo****ks — but it was the story I needed at the time.

So I did what a lot of us do. Ironing. Cake baking. "All I could do now," I told myself. Then I got bored, and realised it was never about the money. It was about me. Motherhood had changed me, but that driven woman hadn't disappeared — she was just buried.

I fell into Neal's Yard almost by accident, zero experience, and built a team of over 200 people. Then I built my own recruitment agency from nothing. £0 to £100k in the first year, no real plan, just showing up.

I'm not telling you this because it's an impressive résumé. I'm telling you because every part of it started exactly where you might be right now — numb, guilty, telling yourself a story that isn't true because it's easier than admitting you don't have the answer yet.

I didn't have unshakeable confidence. I had years of feeling stuck before I found my way through, one uncertain step at a time.

I told myself this part of my life was over.
I’d got 3 babies & that was it.
No more career.
Just little jobs to bring a bit of extra cash in.
BK (before kids) I was a s**t hot corporate sales leader working with awesome brands.
I left when I had my first born & spent the early days in a haze of sleepless night, surviving on coffee & 🍰 .
I didn’t want to go back to my old job but I wanted to do something.
So I started ironing & making cakes.
This was all I was worth right?
I spent YEARS here.
Then something changed in me.
I wanted to do something for me.
I joined Neal’s Yard & in my first year was awarded number 1 business builder.
This is when I realised I had been stuck for years & now it was time to find my groove again.

I used to think I was lazy.
I know now I wasn't.
I had no motivation.
I didn't know what was wrong with me.
Before I had children I was driven, motivated, passionate about my career.
Then I had my babies and tbh just couldn't be arsed.
I felt lost & went from cash in hand job to job.
I told myself that was all I was worth now.
I couldn't have everything.
Could I?
I started working on myself in every way & I found my confidence again.
I worked with a coach who helped me discover what i really wanted & who I was now.
Yes I was a mum, but that's not all I was.
I started a recruitment business & hit £100K in my first year.
Was I successful?
Yes.
Did I love it?
No.
But I had got myself back & found out who I was now.
Change can be scary.
But we change.
Our lives change.
Demands on us change.
