Dear Members please see the notice below regarding the February meeting. You should all have recieved this message on your email. Those without email will recieve a hard copy in the post. Please make very effort to attend on Tuesday or send to your vote into the email account before the meeting:
Special Meeting on 18th February 2025, 7.30pm, before our normal meeting follows.
Dear Member,
After many attempts to get members to come forward to undertake the role of Treasurer and now also Secretary, having failed to secure these roles and the current positions have requested to step down before the start of April 2025, we have no option as a committee but to call this Special Meeting, we hereby give you the minimum 10 daysâ notice. This entitles a secret ballot vote, on how we proceed. Our 3 options are: 1. Suspension, 2. Enlargement and Reformation, 3. Closure.
As your committee we think the best option going forward is 3. Closure. Looking at the options 1. Suspension means in the future it can be reformed, but the benefits are less. 2. Enlargement and reformation is not also ideal, as we have two large Wiâs in our group of 5 and the other 2 meet in the afternoon. Reformation can happen only after suspension. We do not think to join another group would work. This leaves the committee to recommend the final choice of 3. Closure.
We highly also recommend that you read the Wi Handbook and familiarize yourself with the Rules and Constitution of the Wi and the procedures with our 3 options. It also gives you what it entitles for the roles of the Treasurer and Secretary.
We are sorry that it has come to this, but this vote requires a minimum of Ÿ of members MUST vote and a majority of ž of members, to be present and approve on the resolution voted for. This is by a SECRET ballot.
If you cannot be there, then you can vote using the slip below and as long as it is in advance by either sending this vote by post or email to the President or Secretary; before the meeting date. Or, arrange for your vote to be given into the Chair, which is Margaret Myers, our Wi Advisor, by hand, before the start of the meeting,
