Hi everyone, got a nice update about Andrei...
..he now has a job in security! He's so proud, and super happy with it, and is getting more positive every time we see him. He's had a haircut and a shave, and looks like a new person. This is an amazing chance for a fresh start, and we couldn't be happier for him!

You might still see him in the usual spots for the next few days, as he doesn't get paid until later in the week, so be sure to congratulate him! He's spoken at great length of the kindness shown to him by the people of Walthamstow - you guys are the best! Thank you.

In other news, his 29th birthday was on Tuesday! Although we didn't see him anywhere on the day, we did get the chance to meet Lucie, who has done an amazing job of looking out for him for the last few months (thank you Lucie!). We bumped into him the following evening the way home and took him for a meal to celebrate - there a couple of photos posted below...

We have bedding kindly donated to us, which we're extremely thankful for, and will take to Andrei tonight if we can find him! He was able to pull together enough cash to pay for a small room in the area for a week, and we'll work with him to do as much as possible in that time.

We'll keep you all posted, but in the meantime please please share this page - we need as much help as we can get!

We've all fallen on hard times and Andrei is no different. We're looking for any help possible, either through employment, contacts, or information on work, that can assist in getting this willing, determined human being off the streets.

Andrei is 28 (29 in two weeks) and hails from Romania, and is a familiar face for anyone frequently passing through the area. He has a wealth of experience in everything from plastering, decorating and construction, to network cable infrastructure installation and set up, with a host of barista and waiting jobs in between. He fell on hard times after a leg injury at his last job left him without work and support, and eventually a home. He's a lovely guy who's simply down on his luck and on his own, but is focused on picking himself up and making a start on a better life.

He currently gets by on kind donations of food and change by the public, but these are short term solutions, and something more permanent would be a dream for him.

It's worth mentioning that he is of sound mind, with no history of mental health or addiction, is intelligent and has a good knowledge of English. This page has been created with his blessing, and we are in frequent contact.

Once again, if you know of anybody in need of a skilled, reliable, capable worker with an eagerness to learn new skills, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Even a few hours a week can help him pay for accommodation and give him a roof over his head during these chilly nights.
