The NMC and GMC just dropped joint resources for doctors and neonatal nurses working in maternity care.
Because recent investigations (East Kent, Nottingham, the Amos review) didn't hold back: staffing gaps, structural racism, inconsistent care. The kind of problems that don't get solved by one profession working alone.

Real stories from midwives, nurses, doctors, students, and families. Not polished PR. But lessons learned, what worked, and what didn't.
Broken down by themes: teamworking, communication, treatment options. Professional standards mapped out so you can actually find them. Links to other organisations' guidance. One place for a problem that touches everyone.
Tracey MacCormack (NMC) and Cathy Finnegan (GMC) said it themselves: "They felt that a joint project to speak with one voice, showcase best practice, and support high-quality, equitable care was both necessary and timely."
Translation: They know the usual approach hasn't worked. This is them trying something else.
