Allied Resource are currently working with a very reputable global telecommunications company based in the South-West UK. Our client has taken on new contracts with a global brand to complete FLM activities across their portfolio of sites in the area and now requires an experienced Network Maintenance Engineer on a contract basis to complete field maintenance activities. A retainer will apply for on-call activities.

Responsibilities:

- Install, maintain, diagnose, and restore telecommunications equipment, cabling and infrastructure to support key customers' networks.
- Complete site surveys/audits for assessment of space and power to consider any future expansions.
- Complete cable trace, label, and replacement. Fibre patching and patch fibre replacement works.
- Carry out on-call when required as part of the first line maintenance team, on a shift pattern to be discussed.
- Successfully report and close trouble tickets to customer SLA's.
- Respond quickly and effectively to requests from the NOC.
- Complete and submit Maintenance Visit Reports within 24 hours of leaving site.
- Electrical connectivity of 240v AC and up to 48v DC to distribution panels (no power up until certification is complete).
- Always adhere to H&S policies on site and complete risk assessments when necessary.

Must Have:

- Qualifications and experienced in physical build of Telecoms Infrastructure services from plans and to Quality requirements.
- Telecoms Commissioner (entry level) who is skilled and competent in providing basic product commissioning to a level of _green light and connectivity_.
- Hands on experience including I&C activity, test equipment, network build, and power.
- AC/DC awareness - Installation & Testing
- Fibre Splicing & Testing (OTDR)
- CSCS/ECS
- Experienced in the installation and commissioning of Nokia, Juniper, Huawei, Tellabs, Infinera and Ciena equipment, plus an in-depth knowledge of networking, optical transmission systems and IP.

- Identify and flag engineering difficulties and defects in network plans, suggesting alternative routes.

Must Have:
- Strong experience in FTTX route surveying and defect identification, with a continuous focus on civils avoidance methods.

- Operate within customer premises and various substation environments to complete major communications installations.

- ODN, XTan and Avara knowledge (Desirable)
