As I have shared the menu I designed for our huge Portuguese feast of a wedding day, I thought I would also share inside of the booklet menu I designed for our intimate English wedding ceremony! 📖

The Packhorse Inn provided us with exquisite service and decadent food that was exactly as we had dreamt it would be, Every single morsel was delicious perfection and it was such a treat to celebrate after our church wedding in their intimate private dining room.

I even got to toss my bouquet in the pub garden! 💐

We feasted all day and all night long at Quinta Oliveira for our wedding!

It was the most incredible food we’ve ever tasted, accomplanied by sensational beverages and 5 star service! The staff were all magical and we are beyond grateful to Amilcar and his superstar team for giving us the best party, banquets (many of them!) and memories to start our married life with! It was a day straight out of a movie… ✨

To enjoy our loved ones partying together, laughing and dancing and sharing Portugese delicacy’s was sensational.

I had so much fun designing the menu that was of course printed by healeysprinters ✨

This post is to show you the inside of the menu in more details, I shall show the cover in another post as that incorporated some wax seal hands on arts and crafts!

As soon as the photos and video come back from our awesome photographers I will be able to share more with you all of the best day that blew us all away! ✨🎉

🦐💃🏻✨🕺🏻🧩 CUSTOM PUZZLE - WEDDING FAVOUR 🧩💃🏻✨🕺🏻🦐

For both of our weddings I wanted to use my illustration and graphic design skills to make wedding favours that would be personal, functional and fun for our family and friends.

At our first wedding in England I gifted our families with a puzzle I designed using the illustrations I had been creating for our Portuguese wedding stationary which was to follow. The idea was for it to be an activity to do in the weeks in-between celebrations that would keep excitement bubbling!

(I also knew there were members of my family who love puzzles as much as I do so it would be a competition of who could complete it first!)

I was thrilled to have a pitch at the Crafty Fox Markets Sample & Seconds Sale market on the 16th of August, Crafty Fox’s first market to be held at the National Theatre and MY first market in the city of London!

Myself and Bruno had the car packed the day before and got up super early so that the travel and set up went super smoothly! We had an awesome and successful day filled with fun! Thank you so much Crafty Fox! 🦊🎪🎉

🛍️🎨📅 LIBERTY’S OPEN CALL: CALENDAR COMPETITION! 🛍️🎨📅

A day before we set off for our wedding abroad, I decided to enter Liberty’s Christmas calendar competition, I then had two days after we got home to finish and submit my entry and I managed to do so!

On this occasion I didn’t get through to the next round, however, I wanted to share my concept submission with you all as I think it is really important to share work with the world that would otherwise sit as a file on a computer or in a forgotten sketchbook…

Freelance artists are always working on multiple projects, as we strive to achieve our dreams and every project we take on is a page in our story and a building block to our success. Which is why I believe every project deserves to be celebrated at every stage!

Congratulations to the finalists I am so looking forward to seeing your beautiful work!

For the last two months alongside my commissions, workshops, children’s book development, chasing new leads and wedding prep I have been working on two competitions, I’ll share the other one as soon as the winners have been announced!

This is concept work, not a final piece, the illustration of the building is the base and then if I had been successful I would have worked on the details, so this is very much a “sketchbook” work in progress post!

📖✨ CAPTURING THE ESSENCE OF OUR STORY ✨📖

“I wanted the artwork to feel like the front cover of our love story”

Storytelling artwork can be whimsical and wonderful but always has its roots in reality. Real feelings, real thoughts, real bonds and real moments.

At a wedding you can literally see this in all of the creative processes - the illustration, photography, handmade wedding cakes, artistry in hair dressing, the presentation of a feast, the speeches etc.

Every art form draws from the facts of reality and our wedding was the all about celebrating the magic of holding so much love for each other, family and friends, and knowing that is the magic in life.

🎀☀️🎪 BREW & FRIENDS MAKERS MARKET - THE HALLS - NORWICH 🎪☀️🎀

On the last weekend of May I had a ‘double day’ market! On the Saturday and Sunday I had a pitch in the beautiful Halls venue of Norwich as part of the Brew & Friends Makers Market!

I was feeling a little under the weather which made me even more determined to make the most of the market, I took my iPad and made sure that when I wasn’t talking to customers or venders I was working on my illustrations. Solo markets are a lot of work and I am so grateful my little car can just about squeeze everything in it! It was great to see some familiar faces such as the wonderful

The luckiest. We are beyond grateful to have found each other, for the life we are building, for our family, for our Bea, for our everyday. To quote Frances Foster | Suffolk Wedding Photographer (our photographer) in her post: “The day was like being in a Richard Curtis British romantic comedy and was absolutely perfect for them. Passionate, funny, and definitely some stories to remember!” – I couldn’t have described it better myself.
 
Cheers to the days of utmost joy where loved ones come together to celebrate love and life. Thank you for these first precious photographs Frances, they will be treasured. We are very excited for the final gallery!
