Dear Marine Jobseekers,

In shipbuild, ship repair, and refit, progress is rarely dramatic.

It’s built quietly - through decisions made on the dock, standards held under pressure, and experience earned when plans change.

The moments that look like breakthroughs usually come after long periods of focus:

🔱 New builds reaching critical milestones
🔱 Refit projects turning tight schedules into delivered results
🔱 Repair programmes recovered through calm ex*****on

That’s how careers move in this industry too.

Not in straight lines.
Not on demand.
But in phases - where preparation meets timing.

If this year feels intense, demanding, or transitional, that’s often a sign you’re moving into the next phase - not falling behind.

🔱 Stay sharp.
🔱 Stay visible.
🔱 And stay ready.

If you’re considering your next step in shipbuild, ship repair, or refit, and want a straightforward, discreet conversation, send your CV to [email protected]

Confidential. No pressure. Just perspective.

⚓ The Shadow Fleet: Lawful Adaptation or Systemic Risk? ⚓

The term “shadow fleet” has become a focal point in global shipping.
To some, it reflects smart adaptation to a changing world.
To others, a growing challenge to the maritime order.

Both views matter.

🔱 The legal starting point (X)
Under UNCLOS, no one owns the high seas. Beyond territorial waters, vessels fall primarily under flag-state jurisdiction. Enforcement by others is limited and conditional.

From this perspective:
• Trading on the high seas is lawful
• Reflagging and renaming are permitted
• Offshore ship-to-ship transfers are legal
• Hot pursuit only applies if it starts in territorial waters
• Compliance depends on the flag state, not global consensus

Seen this way, the shadow fleet is not illegal – it is shipping operating as maritime law allows in a fragmented, multipolar world.

🔱 The adaptation argument
Supporters argue:
• Trade doesn’t stop when politics change
• Shipping follows demand, not alignment
• Non-Western insurance, class, and finance are legitimate
• “Bella 1” becoming “Marinera” is lawful paperwork
• , , and adapted to the system – they didn’t invent it

In short: plural legality, not lawlessness.

🔱 The counter-argument (Y)
Critics highlight:
• Aging vessels cycling through flags and names
• AIS gaps reducing transparency
• Accountability challenges
• Environmental and spill risk
• Pressure on Port State Control and flag registries (e.g. )

📡 Where the debate really lives
AIS, STS operations, and reflagging sit in grey zones – lawful in some jurisdictions, uncomfortable in others.

🔱 Where RAW Resourcing stands
We don’t deal in headlines. We understand both:
• The legal realities of UNCLOS (X)
• The operational, safety, and reputational risks (Y)

The real issue isn’t X or Y.
It’s that global shipping no longer operates under a single centre of power.

💬 Where do you stand – X or Y?
