Our Founder, Dr Naveen, spoke openly about burnout and dissatisfaction within NHS teams. When healthcare workers feel unsupported, kindness fades, and when kindness fades, patient care suffers.

Dr Naveen Keerthi saw NHS departments under immense pressure.
As a locum, he knew qualified doctors abroad who were ready to help but locked out by barriers and red tape.

I paid to work for free in the NHS.

Not because I had to, but because there was no other clear way in.

When I came to the UK in 2004, I had to take what was called a ‘clinical attachment’. It meant paying a hospital for the opportunity to shadow doctors, just to get local experience.

There was no pay, no formal guidance, and no guarantee it would lead anywhere. Still, I did it because like many overseas professionals, I believed that was the only way.

It took me six months to get my first job and that struggle stayed with me. I knew others were facing the same silent barriers.

Years later, that experience led to the founding of Doc2UK and eventually, Nurse2UK. I wanted to create the kind of support I never had. A structured, ethical path into the NHS, backed by mentoring and genuine care.

Every placement is a step toward helping people find their confidence, purpose, and belonging.
