Hi there,

My name is Mavela: an inspirational speaker and life coach.

I recently installed a whiteboard in my kitchen, and it has already started to make a world of difference for myself and my children.

I am qualified primary school teacher, so I am naturally drawn towards a whiteboard and using it to relay concepts, but in my home space I have been using it as a tool to set clear goals for myself and my children.

My children have already reported that it has made a world difference with how they feel about doing tasks. They said that they have felt less stressed, and it has made their days feel purposeful and accomplished.

I love using this board to guide and structure the children's day. It means that (as a parent) I talk less, and the children can independently work through the tasks and take ownership and responsibility for their schedule without me telling them what to do.

Have you ever tried using a whiteboard in your personal space before? If so, what did you use it for? Was it beneficial?

Those who are parents, have you used a whiteboard in your home before? If not, could you consider using one in your home space? Comment below and let me know.

It was so lovely when I popped into my local on Saturday (to pick up some groceries), and I spotted this eye-catching and luxury weekly planner. I couldn't help but grab it and buy it along with my other groceries.

It's from the brand Paperchase (which is now owned by Tesco). What do you think? Do you also use a weekly planner to help organise your life?

Do let me know in the comments.

Working from/at home with children around is a balancing act, so here are some tips:

1. Choose a quiet time to do the work (i.e., early in the day or late at night when the children are asleep

2. Choose a quiet space or room (if you have one)

3. Complete the task in stages (so that all of work is not left to the last minute - that will create stress). Start on the tasks way before the deadline and do little and often.

4. Try to meet the needs of your children before you start the tasks: that may involve giving them breakfast, lunch, or dinner

5. Know what tasks/goals you want to achieve before starting (e.g., create a to-do list)

6. Set a time frame by which you want to complete the work by (e.g., I will work on this for 1 hour).

7. Lastly, and crucially, have your children engage in independent activities; this may be a good time for them to use their devices (i.e., schedule their device time at the same time that you want to complete some work. e.g. "Children, I am giving you 1 hour on your devices" and use that time to get some (uninterrupted) work done.

Ah, it's so easy to give into self-defeating thoughts. And it is so easy to let situations overwhelm us!

But we have the power of words and the power to speak life into our lives!

The Bible says: "As a man thinks, so is he." Proverbs 23:7

Let's think like soldiers today instead of victims!

Most of the time, the war that we are fighting is against ourselves and our thoughts!

Let's rise up today and fight the good fight of faith.
