Health & Safety Compliance Officer

📍 Kent, South East England | 💷 £47,001 + excellent benefits

Join the UK’s largest port and help drive health & safety compliance across a critical national infrastructure operation.

Key responsibilities:

✅ Lead and improve ISO 45001 compliance

✅ Deliver audits, inspections, and assurance programmes

✅ Oversee compliance in fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and key risk areas

✅ Maintain the H&S legal register and monitor regulatory changes

✅ Support managers in embedding effective risk management

What you'll bring:

✔ NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)

✔ Experience in H&S compliance, audit, or assurance roles

✔ Strong knowledge of health & safety management systems (ISO 45001 preferred)

✔ Ability to influence and engage operational teams

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing

⚓ Conduct fuel bunkering & black water discharge operations

🛠️ Carry out vessel maintenance, repairs & engineering tasks

🎨 Support painting, plumbing, carpentry & general upkeep

📋 Complete safety checks, maintenance logs & compliance reporting

🌍 Ensure environmental & PLA compliance across fleet operations

🚤 Assist with dry docking and operational vessel support

✅ What We’re Looking For

✔️ 5+ years’ experience crewing vessels

✔️ Marine maintenance & engineering knowledge

✔️ Multi-trade practical skills

✔️ Strong safety awareness & problem-solving ability
