When people leave an event already making plans to keep talking, you know you’ve built the right kind of room🍸

That was one of Lauren Placencia, MD’s biggest takeaways from the first in-person HealthTech Happy Hour in New York.

Founders, clinicians, operators and investors came together with no panel, no formal agenda and no pressure to do anything other than talk.

And they did.

Conversations moved across care models, infrastructure, access, affordability and the bigger question so many people in the room are working on from different angles: how do we make healthcare work better?

By the end of the evening, people were swapping numbers, finding mutual connections and making plans to carry those conversations on beyond the room.

We caught up with Lauren afterwards to hear what surprised her, what people were talking about and what the first event has reinforced about where she wants to take the HealthTech Happy Hour community next.
