JL100578 Lancashire – Senior Groom/Rider (optional) required for Competition Stud

*Full time or part time *4-5 days a week *Single accommodation *Own horse welcome *Riding available for the right candidate *Chance to compete

We are looking for someone to join our team as a senior groom to assist with the daily running of a competition yard and sports horse stud

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and motivational person who can work on their own initiative and as part of a team. Your role will require you to maintain the high standards of the yard to ensure that tasks are carried out correctly and in a timely manner. You need to have a practical knowledge of stable management, horse health and need to be competent and reliable. You must be organised, tidy and work well under pressure. To apply you must have worked in the industry already and be proficient in all practical yard tasks.

Riding is not essential for this role however there would be riding opportunities for a good rider. Good ground working skills are required.

For the right applicant there is a chance to bring your own horse and compete, however due to already aving 3 dogs on the yard unfortunately we can not accommodate anymore dogs.

Further training is available for anyone wanting to expand their knowledge or qualifications.

JL128271 Lancashire - Advanced Apprentice Groom/Rider required by Competition Stud

*4-5 days a week *Accommodation available *Own horse welcome *Chance to compete *Other add on qualifications on top of apprenticeship

We are looking for an advanced apprentice. Due to the nature of the yard this is only suitable for candidates 18+ with previous hands on experience and a knowledge of basic stable management.

This opportunity is perfect for someone who prefers a more hands on way of gaining a qualification rather than the college route and a chance to gain the experience and skills employers want to succeed in the industry and earn whilst you train.

Applicants can choose from Breeding or riding pathways, however whichever pathway you choose you will be involved in all aspects of the yard from foaling mares to backing and show preparation and everything else in between. Our set up means that you will gain experience and skills in numerous aspects of the industry. We have over 20 years experience training apprentices and this is an excellent chance to get on the career ladder with good prospects within the business for progression which can lead to a permanent position on qualifying for the correct candidate.

A good level of riding is preferred for this position as there will be riding opportunities for applicants with a suitable level of riding

Training on such a large diverse yard means that no two days are the same and gives you the experience and skills employers want.

There is onsite accommodation and own horse is welcome.

The apprenticeship comes with a package of industry qualifications, our apprentices are registered through Haddon Training.
