When you move into a care home you can feel a mixture of emmotions.these can include being scared ,anxious or stressed,even thinking that you will be lonely as you dont really know anyone . This is where Buddy Up comes in handy,Introduce your new resident make them feel at home ,reasure them that its not the end coming into a care home in fact its a new chapter in their life.These two beautiful ladies have become good friends in such a short time, They meet for breakfast were they start their day. Winsome and Irene have told each other about their lives from meeting their husbands to having their babies, (This is how you capture their life stories for their own person centred care plan).You would think they have been friends for years ,Irene said " I wish i had met Winsome years a go we would of had so much fun together" My reply was " you can have fun now its never to late! "So if you have a resident whos new to your home and is looking a bit lost, buddy them up it works wonders and to see those smiles and the happiness is just wonderful 💛
