Twenty-five people applied to participate in CV review Live this Wednesday. This is a complimentary CV review online.

Not one of those highly skilled and qualified professionals completed the form effectively.

I don't know whether it was an oversight or they had deliberately skipped questions that categorically stated that completion of that question was a requirement and that failure to fully complete the form would render their application null and void.

You are probably thinking, why does that matter?

Every single question is linked to a statutory GDPR compliance outcome for my company, as well as assessing if the applicant is serious about landing an offer. Therefore, it does matter to me. Assessing whether the candidate has completed the form effectively also matters to the employer.

How you do one thing is how you do everything. It is an indicator of how you would tackle your work.

You say you pay attention to detail, but you are not paying attention.

Consider why any company that is committed to their success would want you glazing over key issues they need to make a profit? You definitely would not entertain this, so why should they.

One of the fastest ways to get yourself sifted out of the running for that job you want is glancing over the instructions and not taking in the application instructions.

As soon as you fail to follow the instructions, you're out.

Some employers will even put instructions in a body of text to see which candidates will read and apply them.

Move at Pace, not in haste if you don't want to be rejected.

Civil Service Interview Hacks To Help You Get Hired.

The number one mindset key that you must get your head around when preparing for an interview is that the requirements of the Civil Service interview process are not the same as the private sector.

I can not count the number of times l have given the phone an eye roll when I hear Americanised tips and questions given out purporting to be Civil Service Interview tips.

Asking questions such as:
* Do you have any concerns about hiring me?🤔
* Tell me about the last time you fired someone? 🙄
* Give me three adjectives describing blah, blah, blah about the company? 🧐

Seriously, as a coach who has sat on interview panels, the consensus thought across for interviewers would be. Is this candidate seriously OK?

I urge you to use decernment to avoid embarrassment as this type of, I want to catch you out, shenigans could cost you the job offer.

Ditch the 'Go Get'em, I'm gonna get you' type of catchphrases and get prepped to have a professional adult conversation about how your behaviours, skills, knowledge, and expertise are a good fit for the role.

Landing your next opportunity depends on you to show up as the person who is established in the role.

I have seen too many great candidates like you get pipped to the post because you have misconstrued the process.
