Linlithgow Scotch Hop 2026, Scottish Dancing for All - 2 weeks to go!
We hope you will all be able to join us this summer in the unique open air setting of Linlithgow Palace, on one or more Wednesday evenings from 15th July to 12th August 2026. Dancing starts at 7:30pm.
Please note that tickets for our first night on 15th July are sold out, and the other nights are selling fast.
Tickets are now available via our website https://scotchhop.org.uk/2026-summer/. This year we are offering a larger discount for season tickets, but there are now only a couple left. Please note that numbers are limited again this year, so we recommend that you book your places as quickly as possible!
The bands for each evening are:
15th July - Gordon Shand Scottish Dance Band
22nd July - The Occasionals
29th July : Lomond Ceilidh Band
5th August - Martainn Skene
12th August - Stephen Carcary Scottish Dance Band

As with previous years, remedial works mean that we are still not able to use the courtyard of Linlithgow Palace. So, weather permitting, we will dance in the Great Hall at the Palace, located on the first floor with access up spiral stone staircases, which may not be suitable for some.
In case of wet weather we will use the nearby Low Port Centre.
As ever, we will have excellent live bands each evening, our fabulous callers Sheila McCutcheon and Seonaid Scott and an enjoyable mix of ceilidh and country dances. Juice and water will be available throughout the evening, also shortbread at the interval (including gluten-free options).
Linlithgow Palace is easily accessible by foot, bike, road, rail and bus. Because of the restoration work in progress, parking at the Palace itself is very limited, but there is more nearby.
The Low Port Centre is a 5-minute walk from the Palace, or a short drive. Go east along the High Street, left at the roundabout. Then turn first left into the Low Port (the hall is on the left, limited parking on the right and we need to keep spaces for the band and committee members bringing equipment) or turn first right to park in the long stay car park at Tesco and walk back to the Centre.
