Linlithgow Scotch Hop 2024 Autumn Ceilidh
Not long now until Linlithgow Scotch Hop's Autumn ceilidh at Linlithgow Academy on Friday 15th November and tickets are selling fast! We offer the usual Scottish Dancing for All variety of familiar and less known dances, featuring our wonderful caller Sheila McCutcheon and the music of the Gordon Shand Scottish Dance Band. Linlithgow Scotch Hop 2024, Scottish Dancing for All.

We hope you will all be able to join us this summer in the unique open air setting of Linlithgow Palace, on one or more Wednesday evenings from 10th July to 7th August 2024. Dancing starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are now available via our website 2024 Summer – Linlithgow Scotch Hop. Please contact us via [email protected] if you have any queries.

As with last year, remedial works mean that we are still not able to use the courtyard of Linlithgow Palace. So, weather permitting, we will dance in the Great Hall at the Palace, located on the first floor with access up spiral stone staircases, which may not be suitable for some.

In case of wet weather we will use the nearby Low Port Centre, which has recently re-opened.

As ever, we will have excellent live bands each evening, our fabulous caller Sheila McCutcheon and an enjoyable mix of ceilidh and country dances. Just come and enjoy, but our website will soon show an idea of what the dances will be. Juice and water will be available throughout the evening, also shortbread at the interval (sorry, no tea this year).

Numbers are limited to 125, and we expect to sell out, so please order as early as you can.

Linlithgow Palace is easily accessible by foot, bike, road, rail and bus. Because of the restoration work in progress, parking at the Palace itself is very limited, but there is more nearby.

The Low Port Centre is a 5-minute walk from the Palace, or a short drive. Go east along the High Street, left at the roundabout. Then turn first left into the Low Port (the hall is on the left, limited parking on the right) or turn first right to park behind Tesco and walk back to the Centre.

We hope as many of you as possible will be able to join us for one or more evenings this year.

Linlithgow Academy Ceilidh Friday 27th October

Tickets are selling fast for our Autumn ceilidh at Linlithgow Academy on Friday 27th October 7.30 pm-10.30 pm. Music will be from Iain MacPhail and his Scottish Dance Band with our brilliant caller Sheila McCutcheon and a lively selection of interesting dances.
