Supply teaching can offer brilliant flexibility, but we know that consistency can be a real concern too.

Our Guaranteed Pay Scheme is designed to give teachers the reassurance of a set weekly income, while still enjoying the variety and flexibility of supply teaching.

The scheme is offered to a small number of our strongest teachers who are flexible, reliable, happy to teach across the primary age phase and open to travelling to different schools when needed.

In most cases, we guarantee 4-5 days’ pay per week. In return, teachers commit to working exclusively with Heart of Supply.

Places on the scheme are limited and subject to:

✔ satisfactory professional references
✔ completion of all compliance checks
✔ flexibility and availability requirements

To ensure quality and consistency for the schools we work with, the scheme is usually offered to around six full-time teachers and one or two part-time teachers at any one time.

If you’re working on supply, World Environment Day can be as simple as taking a few moments to notice the world around you with the children.

You could encourage them to look after their classroom and playground, praise those who help keep spaces tidy, take learning outside, go on a short nature walk or ask pupils to write or draw a simple pledge for protecting the environment.

Even a sensory scavenger hunt can open up lovely conversations about nature, seasons, wildlife and caring for shared spaces.

Small, simple ideas add up to make a meaningful difference 🌿

Still working full-time but thinking about supply from September?

Late-night registrations are back this half-term to make things a little easier.

If you resigned on 31st May, or you’re planning ahead for September, this gives you the chance to register without using your PPA time or trying to squeeze it into an already busy school day.

Appointments will be available every Thursday from 4th June (today!) until 16th July, from 4:30pm onwards, with the last slot at 7pm.

It means we can start your registration, get your compliance checks moving and begin speaking to schools about suitable roles before the summer holidays.

At Heart of Supply, we’ll begin with a proper conversation about your experience, preferences, travel, confidence and the kind of role you’re looking for.

From there, we’ll guide you through registration, compliance and the checks needed before you go out to work.

When you work on supply, it can be really tempting to say yes to everything because you want to be helpful, reliable and available.

But you can be reliable without being available for absolutely everything.

Having boundaries does not make you difficult. It helps you work in a way that is realistic, sustainable and right for you.

That might mean being honest about how far you can travel, which year groups you feel confident with or the types of bookings that suit your experience best.

Supply works best when everyone is clear from the start.

And we’ll always respect that.
