Our 30th anniversary is an amazing opportunity to look back at how far we’ve come, while also looking ahead to how far we still hope to go.

Here, our current Chair of Trustees, Nick, celebrates 30 years of SIL alongside our former Director, Barbara Millman, one of the people who helped shape SIL in its early days.💙

Where SIL is today has only been made possible because of the people who came before us. Their vision, dedication and belief in independent living laid the foundations for the organisation we are today.🏡

As we celebrate 30 years, we’re proud to honour that legacy, and we hope to continue building on it for many years to come. ✨

We won 🎉

We are beyond proud to have won the Hereford Times Community Award for our work supporting men’s mental health. 💙

For us, awards like this are about so much more than recognition. We hope they help shine a light on the importance of accessible mental health support, spread awareness of the work we do, and, most importantly, reach the people who need us most.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us, champion our work and help us break down the stigma around men’s mental health.

At SIL, we appreciate and celebrate every single member of our team and the dedication, kindness and hard work they bring every day. Whether nominated for an award or not, every member of our SIL family is valued and appreciated! 💙

Looking to the future! 💙✨

Yesterday, we came together for our AGM to celebrate 30 years of Services for Independent Living, reflect on how far we’ve come and, were we are heading.💪

As our Chair, Nick, highlighted while so much has changed over the last three decades, our purpose remains the same: Independent Living.🏡✨

Looking ahead, SIL has three key ambitions: to remain focused on the people we support, to continue being a place where our employees can grow, develop and flourish, and to bring independent living to even more people.💙

There is still so much to look forward to, and we’re excited for what the next chapter holds. 💫
