New Year, New You…

This year has been like no other. I, for one, had never heard of the term ‘furlough’ before the pandemic struck and I have never relied on technology as much as I have in the last 6 months. From endlessly shouting “you’re on mute!” and “can you turn your camera on!” to advising and helping people at all ages and stages of their careers on Zoom, Teams and Skype, I have found myself running interviews remotely and also facilitating and assessing candidates on virtual assessment centres. Covid19 has certainly changed the way I work and I am now used to delivering careers advice and guidance and recruitment solutions in a very differently way.
Sadly, there have been so many people who have lost their jobs, had to change their plans regarding further study, had work offers retracted and are feeling vulnerable as to what the future holds. The New Year is the ideal time to reassess and make resolutions to engineer a career change. That’s where I can really help you and add value. I offer a range of careers services and will tailor a bespoke package to enable you to move forward. From CV reviews and total rewrites to interview preparation - I can walk you through an action plan to ensure that you are ready to make applications and re-shape your career.
I am a fully qualified Careers Advisor and have a wealth of experience working as a Recruiter in the corporate world – I have trained assessors and interviewers in best practice so I totally understand the recruitment process end to end. Having worked in the Higher Education space for more than 14 years I am able to support students with their career choices and prepare them for the world of work. I understand University Admissions and regularly work with A Level students (and their parents) to review University Supporting Statements and applications.

After a particularly stressful day ...Zoom outage caused chaos...it was so lovely to receive a box of the most delicious brownies by post from a very happy client. Totally unexpected and so appreciated.

I do love my job...despite technical hitches.

I’ve never heard of Bad Brownie, but they are am-aze-zing!! 😋

Lots of people have been asking me for help and advice regarding job hunting in a pandemic. Understandably there’s much uncertainty right now.

I’m working on Skype, phone and Zoom for the foreseeable future and have availability for appointments with new and existing clients.
