♻️ 𝗭𝗘𝗥𝗢 𝗪𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘 𝗪𝗘𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗬: 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗-𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦𝗡’𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗-𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧.
Over the weekend, I walked into a thrift store and walked out with something that had been sitting on my wish list for far too long…
A Nespresso machine. ☕️

Basically brand new and being sold for practically pennies because the owner was emigrating and wanted to clear things out quickly.
And honestly? I felt like I’d won the lottery. 😂

As a former shopaholic in recovery (emphasis on 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 😅), I’ve been making a conscious effort to cut down on my consumption and think a little differently about what I actually need - and where I can find it.

There are definitely some things I still want brand new, straight out of the box. But finding something I genuinely wanted, buying it second-hand, giving it a new home AND keeping a perfectly good product in use?

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝. 🤍
And then there’s the fact that it is quite literally the EXACT colour of my kitchen and all my appliances…

So I have two theories:
1. 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲.
2. 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 😂☕️

Sometimes the best way to end the week is to step away from the desk for a minute, soak up a little sunshine and appreciate the fact that we made it through another week. 🙌

It’s been a busy one, but there’s always something to be grateful for - the wins, the lessons, the funny moments and even the little things that make an ordinary Friday feel pretty lovely.

So, before we all disappear into weekend mode…

☀️ A LITTLE THURSDAY REMINDER…
Rest is just as essential as going hard.
We spend so much time filling our diaries, chasing deadlines, answering emails and trying to squeeze just one more thing into the day that we can forget to actually stop.

So while the sun is shining, make the most of it. 🌞
And it doesn’t have to be anything big.
☕ Take 10 minutes to actually sit and enjoy your coffee.
🌿 Step outside and stand in the sunshine.
📖 Read a few pages of your book.
🚶‍♀️ Take a proper lunch break.
🧘‍♀️ Give yourself 10 minutes with absolutely nothing to do.

When you’re planning your day today or looking at your diary, don’t just schedule the work.

Schedule the rest too.

Because your work-life balance matters and both your mental and physical health will thank you for it. ❤️
The sunshine won’t be here forever… so go and enjoy a little bit of it. ☀️
You don’t always have to be productive. Sometimes, you just need to pause.

♻️ ZERO WASTE WEDNESDAY | THE OLD PHONE DRAWER
You know the one.
That drawer where old phones, mystery cables, chargers and technology you might need one day go to disappear forever...

And then a new phone gets released and suddenly the perfectly good one in your hand feels ancient.

But before we replace, upgrade and forget about the old device… what happens to it?

📱 Sell it
💰 Trade it in
👨‍👩‍👧 Pass it on
🔧 Repair it
♻️ Recycle it properly

Because our old tech is full of materials that can potentially be recovered and reused - and sending it to landfill shouldn’t be the default.

So this Wednesday, maybe have a little rummage through The Drawer™.
You might be surprised by what you find. 😂
And if you find 4 old phones in there… we don’t need to talk about it. 👀📱
