Today we're heading to the sunny Sussex coast to introduce spectacular Sarah, our Welfare Manager at our Brighton centre.

Sarah looks after our oldest students on our English for the Future and Pathways to Higher Education programmes, aged 15-20. Sarah is there to guide them every step of the way on their transitional journey into adulthood and preparing them to navigate university life.

It's time for the next spotlight in our Meet the Team series.

Today, we're introducing judicious Jess, our dedicated Welfare Manager at our Dicker centre.

At Bede's, the well-being of our students is at the heart of everything we do, and Jess is the cornerstone of that mission. From overseeing vital safeguarding procedures across English Plus and all our specialist courses to providing a supportive ear for our students and staff, she ensures that everyone feels safe, heard and at home.

Whether she's helping our younger teens navigate their first time away from home or supporting older teenagers through the challenges of growing up, Jess approaches every situation with empathy and expertise. No problem is too big or too small for her to tackle!

Wishing our staff around the world a wonderful Easter break! We hope your weekend is filled with relaxation and sunshine, and a few chocolate treats. 🌷

Our Head Office team is taking a little break from 5pm UK time on Thursday 2nd April and we will be back in the office on Tuesday 7th April, ready to respond to your questions and receive new applications.

Next up in our Meet the Team series, we are thrilled to introduce the incredible Iva - our Academic Manager at the Windlesham centre.

Iva is the engine behind the educational magic, overseeing two exciting and diverse programmes for students aged 8-13. At Windlesham, she'll be leading:

🧭Future Explorers, preparing students for explorations of the outside world and making impossible missions seem possible;

🔥 Bear Grylls Adventurers, combining English language tuition with survival skills and outdoor bravery.

Iva's passion for creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment is what makes our programmes so special.

The sun is starting to shine, the prep is underway, and the countdown to Bede's Summer School 2026 has officially begun!

To ensure everyone is ready for an incredible and safe summer, we're doing an online Training Day on June 6th for all staff.

This is an essential session for all staff members to keep them up-to-date with summer school rules and regulations with a focus on:

✅ Safeguarding: Putting student well-being at the heart of everything we do.
✅ Health & Safety: Ensuring a secure environment for students and staff alike.
✅ Risk Assessments: Mastering the tools to stay proactive and prepared.

We are excited to welcome amazing Allie to Bede's Lancing as our Welfare Manager.

Allie is a fantastic new addition to the team, bringing in her strong background in working with secondary school students along with valuable experience in a large summer school environment. She has a real passion for supporting young people and a deep understanding of the challenges teengaers face, making her the perfect person to ensure our students feel safe, happy and supported throughout their stay at Bede's.

Next up in our Meet the Team series, we're heading back to the coast to introduce the magnificent Maria, our Centre Director for Brighton.

Managing a centre for our oldest student cohort (ages 15–20) requires a unique blend of energy, organisation, and mentorship. While our students are busy diving into English for the Future and Pathways to Higher Education, Maria is behind the scenes overseeing the entire Brighton operation.

From ensuring student well-being to managing our vibrant campus life, Maria’s mission is to create a safe, professional, and inspiring environment where our young adults can thrive.

With Maria at the helm, our Brighton students are set up for a summer of growth, discovery, and unforgettable memories.

Next up in our Meet the Team series, we're heading to the vibrant University of Sussex campus to introduce the powerhouse behind our senior academic programmes - the delightful Desi!

As our Academic Manager in Brighton, Desi is the architect of the summer experience for our oldest cohort of 15 -20 year olds. She doesn't just manage classrooms, she crafts futures. Desi oversees two of our most sophisticated programmes:

📚 English for the Future - focussing on global modern problems and Sustainable Development Goals,

📚 Pathways to Higher Education - giving students the essential university preparation.

Desi's superpower is her precision. She works tirelessly to ensure every student is placed in the exact pathway that matches their goals, ensuring they leave Brighton not just with better English, but with a clear roadmap for their academic career.
