We are so pleased that 'Green Sparks' will be back with us in November. This 3 day (12 hour) course is specifically designed to get 18-21 year olds (up to 25 with SEND) outside to discover new activities and acquire new skills in our lovely, calm setting.

The course is free but you must apply via the Green Sparks form and we've put a link in the comments (as FB doesn't like it when we share it here!).

🚧 Chinese Bridge – Works Update 🚧

Thanks to everyone who has reported concerns about the condition of Chinese Bridge. The bridge is managed by Cambridgeshire County Council and we’re pleased to now be able to share an update on the repair works.

Re-decking works are due to begin this week with the bridge remaining open while this part of the work is carried out.

From 5 October, specialist heritage repairs to the bridge parapet will begin. These works are expected to take around four weeks and will require the bridge to close while contractors are on site. A short pedestrian diversion will be in place through the car park to the north and the bridge will reopen at the end of each working shift.

Thank you again to residents who have raised this with us. We know how well used the bridge is and it’s good to see these important repairs now moving forward.

Please see the attached images of a letter written to Anglian Water yesterday following the increasing number of water leaks and water pressure issues being reported across Godmanchester.

We are seeing what residents are saying and we want to show our support.

The Town Council shares the concerns being raised and has asked Anglian Water to look at the wider condition and resilience of the local network, rather than treating each incident simply as an isolated leak.

At a time when residents are being asked to conserve water, it is entirely reasonable to expect repeated losses from the network to be investigated properly and for clear action to be taken where improvements are needed.

We will continue to press for answers and for meaningful action on behalf of residents.

If you are experiencing a leak or water pressure issue, please continue to report it directly to Anglian Water so there is a formal record of the problem.
