Welcome Donation Station #10 – Newcastle City Library

We're pleased to announce the opening of our 10th Suitability donation station, now available at Newcastle City Library.

This new location has been made possible through our partnership with Work & Thrive Newcastle, and we're grateful for their support in helping us make clothing donations more accessible across the city.

Reaching our 10th donation station is an important milestone for Suitability, and we're pleased to be celebrating it alongside a partner that shares our commitment to supporting people into employment.

Thank you to everyone at Work & Thrive Newcastle for helping make this possible, and thank you to everyone who continues to donate through our network of donation stations.

If you’re nearby and have smart or smart‑casual clothing you no longer need, donations can now be dropped off at:
📍Newcastle City Library, 33 New Bridge Street West, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8AX.
⏱️Open from 10am to 5pm from Monday to Friday, and from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.

It was a pleasure to welcome Darren Tate - A Business Development Manager at Education Partnership North East - to our interview advice video series.

We spent some time chatting about careers, interviews and the experiences that have shaped his working life, with Darren answering the same five questions we put to all our guests.

What we enjoy most about these conversations is hearing the different perspectives each person brings, and Darren shared plenty of thoughtful and practical insights from his own experience.

A big thank you to Darren for taking the time to be involved and support the series.

We hope candidates find these conversations useful as they prepare for interviews and hear directly from employers and experienced professionals from across the region.

We'll be at the Learning, Skills and Employability Open Day in Sunderland on Tuesday 20 October, from 10am to 2pm at City Hall, Sunderland.

If you're thinking about your next job, looking for a volunteer opportunity, preparing for interviews, or would like to find out more about the support available through Suitability, come and have a chat with us.

We'll be there alongside local employers, training providers and support organisations, so it's a great opportunity to explore what's available and ask questions about your next steps.

We're looking for donations of men's shoes this month, with larger sizes particularly needed.

Shoes are one of the items we're most often short of, and larger sizes can be especially difficult to keep in stock. A pair of smart or smart-casual shoes can help complete an outfit for an interview, training opportunity, or a first day in a new job.

While shoes are our priority at the moment, we're also looking for other items on our October wishlist. If you have good-quality men's clothing or accessories you no longer need, we'd be grateful to put them to good use.

We're updating our clothing stock for autumn and are looking for a few items that are often difficult for us to source.

Men's shoes remain high on the list, particularly larger sizes. We're also looking for trousers and belts, along with plus-sized shirts, so we can offer candidates more choice when they're preparing for interviews and new jobs.

If you have new and good-quality clothing or footwear that no longer gets worn, we'd be grateful to put it to give it a new purpose through the candidates we support.

With some exciting developments ahead for Suitability, having an extra set of hands made a real difference. Their support helped us get things organised and prepare for what's coming next.

We're getting ready for an exciting new chapter at Suitability, and we're looking for more volunteers to join us.
