West Somerset Time Bank – Exciting New Project!
Applications close on 31st May.
We are pleased to share news of an exciting new initiative potentially being set up in our area by West Somerset Green Forum and Time Banks UK.
The West Somerset Time Bank would be a community volunteering project that rewards members with time credits for carrying out tasks and activities for others. Those credits can then be spent receiving help from fellow members in return. These mutual exchanges make great use of the skills we all have to offer, whether that's going for a walk with someone, helping with gardening, sharing IT expertise or lending a hand with DIY.
The scheme would also be open to organisations, including businesses, theatres, colleges, care homes and councils, broadening the scope of what the Time Bank can offer. Membership will be completely free.
The project is currently launching with a pilot phase to gauge interest in establishing a permanent Time Bank in West Somerset. This paid part-time role is available to help get the project up and running. Could that be you?
Job Opportunity - Project Pilot Coordinator
Funding is available for a part-time Project Coordinator to run the pilot over six months and help get the project off the ground. The pilot phase aims to find out whether there is enough interest to go ahead with setting up a Time Bank, It is a self-employed, part-time position at 10 hours per week, £16/hr for 6 months, to extend to two years if the project takes off.
