After three years of intense study and training, our future nurses are now facing the devastating news that there are no jobs available.

These incredible students have dedicated themselves to the NHS — juggling exams, essays, and placements, coping with the stress and anxiety that come with it, and still showing up every day with compassion and determination.

Over those three years, they have completed more than 2,000 hours of unpaid placements, working long, exhausting shifts to care for patients and gain the experience needed to qualify — all while taking on student debt to fund their studies.

And now, after giving so much of themselves to a system they believed in, they’re being told there are no Band 5 positions available. This is unacceptable.

Our student nurses deserve better. They are the future of our NHS, and their dedication should be valued, respected, and rewarded — not dismissed at the final hurdle.

Let’s stand together and make sure their voices are heard. Please share this message, support our local student nurses, and help call for change.
This situation must be addressed and re-evaluated — the future of nursing in Wales depends on it. 💙
