I see a lot of posts going around at the moment where the salary doesn't reflect the Job Title. I think it's important to remember that Job Titles are subjective to the responsibilities required for that business. If it's a small business is hiring a Head of Marketing, and said person is the only Marketing representative at that company then they are the Head of Marketing, even though their responsibilities are on congress with a Marketing Executive.

The only negative connotation is the fact that applications are likely to be limited as people who are looking for an Executive role are likely to be put off by the job title. But our job as consultants is to offer counsel.

In my world I regularly speak to Sustainability Professionals about the evolving trends within their 'niche'. It's safe to say that the demand for a Sustainability skill-set continues to increase (nearly twice in comparison to others) but what has become clear is the demand for talent beyond the traditional core requirements.

Industrial Examples

Sustainable Finance - now requires those with an understanding of finance and green principles.
Manufacturing - Circular Economy Practices are more sought after as well as Sustainable Supply Chain Management.
Construction - can require a multitude of different specialisms and skills around build, supply chain, energy efficiency.

A Specialism, within a specialism, within a specialism.

Carbon Accountants - combine their knowledge of accounting principles and combine these with their knowledge of carbon markets and emissions
Sustainable Data Scientists - use analytical techniques to measure environmental impact.

I'm not ashamed to say the first album (LP) I bought was 'Ten Good Reasons' by Jason Donovan, which had the classics 'Too Many Broken Hearts', 'Sealed with a Kiss' and 'Especially for You' in it's locker. For the haters, my first single (SP) was 'Unbelievable' by EMF.

Influenced by Jase and his desire to save his relationship (likely with Kylie), I am going to be showcasing 10 good reasons to work with talentvibe over the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, what are your first singles and albums, and more importantly, what format were they on?

Glossary:

SP - this is a small plastic disc that rotated on top of a HiFi, that uses a stylus to transform grooves into electrical signals that are then amplified by speakers
LP - bigger version of the above
HiFi (High Fidelity) - an adopted term for a sound unit consisting of an amplifier, input channels (LPs or Cassettes) and speakers.
Jason Donovan - Australian Actor / Singer who shot to fame as Scotty from Neighbours. Married Charlene (Kylie Minogue)
