If there are any Gloucestershire based followers looking for something wholesome and creative for their children to do this week then my mum
is running her kids learn to sew (this time it’s patchwork sewing) and learn to crochet sessions on Thursday and there’s still a few spots remaining.

Kids sewing and crochet sessions- this Thursday 9 April, Cheltenham - would you like your child to do something creative away from
screens this holiday?

There are still some spaces left on our Kids sewing (all ages) and crochet sessions (probably more for ages 8+)

10.30am to 12pm- patchwork sewing. Your children can start their own patchwork piece and they can take it away to carry them on at home. This is suitable for all ages although as it’s patchwork, they will be using a real needle and not the plastic ones. Children will be provided with a small bag of patches, needle and thread. There will be extra bags of patches to purchase if they want more to carry on at home

2pm to 3.30pm- learn the basics of crochet
Start learning basic single crochet stitch- they’ll be given a crochet hook and a ball of wool. Suitable for ages 8+ unless your child is super crafty

Lessons are held on Prestbury Road in Cheltenham. Coffee and tea will be provided for parents or carers whilst you stay with your children.

£7 per child per session.
Numbers are limited so that Nanny Elizabeth can spend time with each child.

To find out more please email [email protected] or message 07825183718.

Sessions can be booked via the links in the post

I had a night out last night- dancing the night away to the 80’s movie band at Dunkertons with a group of friends, all mums, all letting our hair down, enjoying the moment, singing those classics with no filter….absolute bliss.

And although I was definitely fuelled by too much wine, I couldn’t help but stop and take it in and think about what a formidable group us mums really are.

For a while now, I’ve been wanting to set up a political party- based on the skills of mums. I’d call it ‘mums getting sh*t done’ because we must be the biggest force of nature when we get together, look at the bigger picture, focus on what really matters, harness the power of the mama bear inside us and strive for genuinely making this place better for our children and those after them. No ulterior motive, no privilege, no egos, just the common sense to see what’s wrong and to go out there and fix it. You only have to look at these formidable mums who have experienced unthinkable tragedy but who go on and fight with all they have to make things right for those after them.

Yes it’s a pipe dream, no I have absolutely no political nouse but what I do have is the experience of working with and being with a group of truly great women.

** I know that dads are great too, but today, my thoughts are with the mamas out there, probably all fighting a demon or something or other but doing it quietly so that our children can have it better next time.

Finding joy 🤩

Whether you’re actively job searching right now or feeling stuck in a role you’re desperate to leave, it can feel heavy. The weight of wanting something different. The sadness that life doesn’t look like it did pre-kids. The pressure to be everything to everyone. It’s a lot.

So here’s my advice for today: wherever you are in your working life, pause. Take a breath. Find some joy.

Sounds a bit bonkers?

But mindset really is everything when you’re job hunting. You’ll cope with so much more when you’re feeling lighter. So when things feel tough, actively look for something joyful — something simple that makes you smile and gently pulls you out of your work bubble.

What’s mine? I’m easily pleased… the smell of laundry drying on the line (yes, I managed to get the bedding out in February!) and the scent of Tallow + Ash drifting through the house has brought me so much joy today.

Will that solve a tricky job situation? Probably not. But taking a minute to notice something good absolutely shifts your energy — and that does make a difference.

So… what’s your joy?

Hello! If anyone is still here following us?!

It’s fair to say, we’ve been on a break but I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching recently and Flexperience is like a magnet pulling me back and as we near the end of the second month of 2026, I’ve decided I can’t ignore it any longer.

So WE ARE BACK and if anyone is still seeing this, thank you!

I know that we aren’t going to be able to take off where we left things so I’ll take going slowly.

To say hello, welcome and to show that we still believe in what Flexperience has stood for since I set it up in 2018, I’m going to be offering some free webinars over the next couple of months, focusing on what the job market looks like now, getting under those layers of why it’s a tough market and clearing the path for a cleaner and more focused job search. We’ll also take time to understand the effect of AI!

We can share our experiences, show support and remind ourselves of what we are capable of.

If you’re interested in attending any of these sessions, comment below and keep watching this space!

Thank you, Rebecca

Ps if anyone would be interested in being a guest on a session with me, feel free to let me know! Perhaps you’re a seasoned HR professional and you’d be happy to discuss the local market? Maybe you’ve been making flexible working work for you or your employer?

And we blinked and it was Sunday night….hope you’ve all had a good weekend?

When I hear from the HR Manager from this wonderful company, I smile a little more as they really are a great organisation to recruit for- we’ve placed a number of Flexperience candidates here and as I get to know more and more hiring managers, it cements in my mind that our values are so aligned.

I’m delighted to share this new role
🌞🌻Customer Experience Representative 🌞🌻 could be part time or full time, Brockworth, up to £35,000 FTE, fixed term contract of around 6 months.

If you have proven customer service experience, focusing on transactions and have used CRMs such as Salesforce or SAP then please do get in touch. Our posts with new job roles aren’t getting much engagement at the moment so I thought I would interrupt the feed with some novel crocheted gifts lovingly made by my mum in Cheltenham. I’m her PA and Sales Director, she pays me in the occasional new item of clothing..,.but she expects an immediate response to any of her requests and quite frankly she’s turning into a bit of a Miranda from the Devil Wears Prada. I’ve set myself the target of selling 20 of these sets this month…if you’d like to buy any, then she’s running a Facebook promo, £5 a set for a limited time.

The Tax Manager will work closely with clients to analyse their financial situations and provide tailored solutions.
