It’s time to address the elephant in the room. I’ve taken quite some stick for this over the last 7 months, and it’s time for me to speak up!
In my constant need for knowledge and information about how to improve at my job, I came across a webinar [last year] that provided some brilliant LinkedIn tips, including one that I had never considered: using your own hashtag, so that people can easily find your content.
And in that moment, was born.
Yes, the name is tacky. Yes, I asked people for better suggestions, of which none came. Yes, I cringe whenever I type it. And, YES, my office colleagues roast me for it (never as much as last week, though!).
But, here’s the biggie: it’s one that doesn’t get used by many other people, so is a relatively untouched hashtag that people can scroll through (on any social media platform) and see what specific original content I’ve posted there.
Just a week or two ago, I even had a candidate tell me how they’d been scrolling through it, and looking at my videos, tip sheets, etc. So, it’s done it’s job!
Next time you see me drop the hashtag, k is that I’m not just up my own ar*e (well, not THAT much!), but I’m actually doing it to be helpful 🙂
Now, let me never address this again. And let the roasting from my colleagues continue 🤣
