CV Top Tip Number 5:

No Pictures!

Pictures on a CV are not needed. There is a difference between creating a CV and Portfolio, so don't get the 2 confused. But there is no need for a headshot of yourself on your CV.

Also, don't include images to try and embellish your document, such as background images, a photo of your pet or a hobby you enjoy.

Remember, these documents are professional and are held on multiple records for a long time. So make sure they reflect that level of professionalism.

no.2 - Facts and Figures. - The best way to present your achievements in the language of an employer? Numbers. Use sales figures, growth measurements and anything that shows an accurate change that you impacted.

no.3 - Columns - We have spoken about this a lot on CV Esteem, but it is perhaps the most important layout tip there is out there. Use Columns!!! It splits information up nicely for the reader and makes it easier for you to highlight what you want them to see first.

no.4 - Achievements. - Having an achievement section allows you to include not only your professional triumphs but also your private ones as well.

This week, it's all about Head Hunting Sites.

There are many platforms out there that are not only used by job seekers but also by job recruiters. This is completely separate from job centres and recruitment agencies.

Platforms such as LinkedIn and the CV Library are frequently visited by 'Head Hunters' to find the perfect candidate.

This is because you publish your CV for them to see when you sign up with one of these sites.

Once you have your best CV set up, upload it to as many of these platforms as possible and see who comes to find you! Saturating yourself on every platform will give you better chances.
