Our client is a world-leading manufacturer, and is looking for a talented Design Engineer to join their growing design team.

This is a hands-on, varied role working on a wide range of innovative equipment designed and built in-house for customers across the globe.

**What you’ll be doing:**
🔹 Designing bespoke machinery and systems using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
🔹 Producing 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation
🔹 Liaising with suppliers to obtain materials, prices, and lead times
🔹 Working collaboratively with production, project, and fabrication teams to bring designs to life

**What we’re looking for:**
âś… Strong engineering background with relevant experience or apprenticeship
âś… Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD

The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
Driving Class 2 vehicles to and from locations, both local and long distance
Packing, wrapping, and moving customer belongings with care
Liaising with customers and colleagues professionally throughout moves
Safely loading, transporting, and unloading goods
Completing paperwork and digital records accurately
Carrying out daily vehicle checks & maintaining CPC compliance

What We’re Looking For

The role
You’ll be part of a Service & Maintenance team carrying out:
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Reactive callouts (1 in 5 on-call rota, with additional payments)
Work across fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms & remote signalling systems
Servicing a varied client base across commercial, public sector & third-sector sites
You’ll receive mentoring from an experienced engineer to get you up to speed, with ongoing support from a local office team.

What We’re Looking For
Background in fire alarm systems (addressable & conventional) – CCTV & access control experience is a bonus
Full UK driving licence
Reliable, proactive, and professional attitude
Able to work independently and use initiative
Willing to undergo an advanced DBS check

What’s on Offer
Salary: £32k–£37k DOE (negotiable for the right person)
On-call: ÂŁ90/week + time and a half for callouts & travel
Company van provided
40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (7:30am–4:00pm) + on-call duties (approx. 1 in 5 weeks)
