Belair Research was formed in 1981 at the request of several of sister company Acoustical Control Engineer's clients who wanted a separate ‘consultancy’ identity. However,although ACE & BRL are two separate organisations, they have common personnel and work closely together. This synergy provides significant cost savings and avoids potential problems with split responsibility. BRL’s expertise star
ted off in engineered solutions to noise and vibration control problems. Over the years they have also gained a well earned reputation as experts in other areas of acoustics, such as noise at work, delivery noise, environmental noise measurement/assessment and industrial burner noise. Some of the other areas that BRL has experience in include wind turbines, lifts, firing ranges, recording studios and the noise aboard private aircraft and yachts.
