We’re investing in the next generation of Northern Ireland farming.

Introducing the people behind ABP’s new Future Farmers Programme, developed in partnership with Certified Irish Angus.

Aimed at ABP suppliers under 40, the programme gives the next generation of farm business owners and managers insights into the beef supply chain and encouragement to plan for successful, resilient farming businesses.

From a behind-the-scenes look at ABP’s operations to insights on beef markets, farm succession, finance, business planning, agri-tech and sustainability, our first group explored the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of farming.

The programme also included visits to ABP’s Ellesmere retail packing facility, one of our participating farms in the PRISM 2030 sustainability programme and ABP UK’s Demonstration Farm.

Thinking about a T-Level?

For former T-Level student Lottie, one of the biggest benefits was the breadth of knowledge gained across a wide range of topics, helping her explore different career paths and make informed decisions about her future.

The industry placement also played a key role in building confidence, providing valuable experience in real workplace environments with both the NHS and ABP. Through hands-on projects and day-to-day work, she developed the skills, confidence and understanding needed to take the next step into employment.

T-Levels offer more than just a qualification, they provide practical experience and workplace exposure and we are so pleased so have welcomed so many students back as apprentices.

🌍World Mental Health Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing and highlight the range of support available.

🚜Across the agricultural sector, a number of organisations and initiatives are helping to raise awareness and provide support. The Farming Community Network (FCN) supports farmers and farming families through its helpline service.

🌟The ABP Agriculture team is currently raising funds for FCN through a year-long fundraising initiative, with colleagues taking on a range of challenges, including walks, runs and potentially even marathons.

⭐ Celebrating apprenticeship talent in Shropshire! ⭐

Last night, ABP UK was proud to attend the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards 2026, where we sponsored the Rising Star Awards and celebrated some of the fantastic apprenticeship talent from across the region.

A special mention goes to Dewi, one of our fourth-year FDEM apprentices with Midland Group Training Services, who was named a finalist in the Manufacturing & Engineering category. 👏

Reaching the final is a fantastic achievement, and we’re incredibly proud to see Dewi recognised alongside talented apprentices from across Shropshire.

A huge thank you also goes to Ian Baker for nominating Dewi and Lowri Davies for representing ABP UK and supporting the shortlisting process.

It was a brilliant evening celebrating apprentices, local businesses and the people helping to develop the next generation of talent. 💙

It was fantastic to bring colleagues together to hear from our senior panel alongside Meat Business Women, our graduate junior panel and Farm Africa.

The day also included an interactive workshop, giving everyone the opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another and get involved.

A brilliant day of learning, connecting and celebrating women across our industry! 👏
