Aged 16 to 24, not in education, employment or training and not sure what's next? You're not the only one!

Drop in to Kickstart Your Future, part of our free Together for Tameside event, at Stalybridge Victoria Market Hall on Friday 23 October, 10am to 1pm, to find out what’s on offer to you.

Whether you're looking to earn money, learn new skills, try work experience, find training, explore apprenticeships, or simply get some ideas, you'll find friendly people ready to help. Just come along and meet local organisations offering advice on work experience, digital skills, and creative programmes.

There’ll be six providers offering projects for you to get involved in, including:

Veterans Food CO - Learn cooking skills, gain hands-on experience, earn industry certificates, and explore jobs, apprenticeships, and training opportunities in hospitality 🍳

Skills Construction Centre- Fancy a career in construction? Gain hands-on skills, earn recognised qualifications, and get support into a job, apprenticeship, or further training 🚧

No pressure. No expectations. You don't need to have a plan. Your journey to kickstarting your future could start here.

Blue's journey from internship to employment🙌

Earlier this year, Blue joined our internship programme and received 1 to 1 support with becoming work ready. Throughout her journey, Blue has gained multiple new skills including budgeting, cooking, teamwork and communication. Blue has also helped with the creation of Cat's Wardrobe and joined our Summer Programme after completing the internship.

Just 3 weeks ago, Blue started a paid 4 month YES Scheme opportunity at Top Team Gym where she instantly made an amazing impression! Don't just take our word for it...hear what her new manager, George, had to say:

“Blue has been a fantastic addition to our team. She consistently goes above and beyond, is attentive, eager to learn and always looking for ways to improve. She has fitted in brilliantly and shown that, when young people are given the right opportunity, they can become a real asset to the workplace. Our 2 new HGV apprentices have done amazingly well and we couldn't be prouder!

Two young Tameside residents have successfully secured HGV Apprenticeships, taking an important step towards employment, independence and long-term careers in the transport industry.

Both young people had a strong interest in vehicles and were keen to turn their passion into a career. With support tailored to their goals, they received interview preparation through Tameside Futures, helping them understand employer expectations, practise interview techniques and build confidence.

They were also given the opportunity to visit the workplace before their interviews, allowing them to meet colleagues, learn more about the role and feel more comfortable in the working environment.

Despite feeling nervous about the recruitment process, both young people showed determination, resilience and a positive attitude throughout. Their hard work paid off, with both successfully securing HGV Apprenticeships and beginning exciting new career journeys.

👏 A fantastic achievement and a great example of how the right support can help young people overcome barriers and achieve their ambitions.
