With the sun shining and the weekend looming, we should be feeling fabulous.

But what if your current role is casting a shadow over your mood? How do you know it's time to move on?

Are you ever at a point in your career where you're wondering if it's time for a change? You're definitely not alone.

Recognising when it's time to start looking for a new job involves a mix of gut feelings, self-awareness, and noticing certain signs that indicate it might be time to move on.

Here are some things you might want to consider

Feeling like you've hit a dead end in your current role? If there's no room for growth or advancement, it could be a sign that you've outgrown your position and need a fresh challenge.

It's normal to have off days at work, but if you're constantly unhappy with your job, the company culture, or your colleagues, it might be a sign that you're not in the right place.

Are you going through your days without learning anything new? A stagnant learning curve might signal that it's time to seek out opportunities for personal and professional growth elsewhere.

Struggling to balance work and life can be draining. If your job is taking a toll on your well-being or leaving you with little time for yourself or your loved ones, it might be worth considering a change.

Company culture is important. If your workplace's values or atmosphere don't align with yours, even an exciting job can start feeling like a drag.

Everyone likes to feel appreciated for their efforts. If you consistently give your best without any recognition or reward, it's natural to start looking for better opportunities.

While job satisfaction matters, fair compensation is also crucial. If you feel like you're being underpaid or undervalued, it might be time to explore options that offer better financial rewards.

Similarly, if your company's compensation policies are inconsistent or they only offer better pay when they know you're considering leaving, it's a big red flag and worth questioning whether they truly value you.

Your gut feeling often knows best. If something feels off, it's worth paying attention to and considering your options.

Recognising when it's time for a career change means tuning in to your own needs and goals. It's okay to feel uncertain about taking the leap, but remember that new opportunities can lead to personal growth and exciting adventures.

If any of these signs resonate with you, don't hesitate to start exploring what else is out there. Your dream job could be just around the corner, I would love to help you find it!

Did you know, on average, full-time employees spend over 2,000 hours per year at work?

That's a significant portion of our lives, so it's crucial to ensure you enjoy your role, and enjoy working for your employer.

How do you know when is the right time to change job?

I was chatting to a candidate last week and they asked me 'When is the right time to seek new career opportunities?'

It got me reflecting on the signs that often indicate it might be time for a change.

Here's a glimpse into that conversation and some key takeaways:

🔷 Feeling of Stagnation:
If you find yourself in a role where you're not growing or being challenged anymore, it could be a sign that it's time to explore new horizons.

🔷Passion Check:
When the excitement and passion you once had for your work start to dwindle, it might be worth considering if there's something else out there that could reignite that spark.

🔷 Career Growth:
Feeling like you've hit a ceiling in terms of career progression within your current organisation? It could be a signal that it's time to seek opportunities elsewhere that offer room for growth.

🔷Company Dynamics:
Significant changes within your company, whether it's shifts in leadership, culture, or direction, can sometimes prompt a reassessment of your own career path and goals.

🔷Work-Life Harmony:
Struggling to find that elusive balance between your professional and personal life? It might be a sign that your current role isn't aligning with your overall well-being.

Ultimately, it's about tuning into your own instincts and assessing what's right for you at this moment in your career journey.

Change can be daunting, but it can also lead to exciting new opportunities and growth.

The last few years, especially recent months, has reminded me that life is too short to spend all your time working and not being happy.

I love what I do, and am proof that change can be the best thing ever!

So if you are not 100% happy at work, if you feel unappreciated, unfulfilled, and taken advantage of, maybe it is time for a change.

Give me a call on 07776 303960 or DM me.

I am working with lots of independent and National hearing companies and have lots of opportunities I would love to chat to you about.

Happy Friday!

It's been another very busy, yet absolutely fantastic week, engaging with Audiologists and Optometrists about exciting opportunities and getting them ready for interviews.

There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of catching up with candidates who've already started in their new roles and hearing about their wonderful experiences and newfound enjoyment.

I thrive on the moments when both clients and candidates tell me that I've discovered the perfect match for them. It reaffirms that the time I invest with my candidates and clients is truly worthwhile.

I'm also looking forward to getting updates on how my candidates fare as they start in their new roles.

As for my weekend plans, I'll be busy training this little monkey!

I love being able to help Audiologists and Optometrists find their perfect role, it’s so rewarding and definitely easier than training this little one!

''After much consideration and thoughtful reflection, I've made the decision to resign from my current role. I am incredibly grateful for the experiences, growth opportunities, and relationships I've built during my time here.’’

I have had several candidates being offered roles after interviews, and have been asked several times, what should I say to my employer about my resignation?

It’s an exciting time, you are moving on to a new adventure, but having the dreaded conversation with your manager to tell them you are resigning can be a daunting task, but I believe that doing so with professionalism and integrity is so important.

Here are some tips on how to resign gracefully:

🔷Schedule a Meeting:
Arrange a private meeting with your manager to discuss your decision to resign. This demonstrates respect and gives them the opportunity to address any concerns or questions.

🔷Provide Adequate Notice:
Give your employer sufficient notice to transition smoothly. In the world of Audiology & Optometry Typically, three months' notice is customary, but consider your specific circumstances and the needs of your team and patients.

🔷Offer Assistance:
During your notice period, offer to assist with the transition process. This could include training your replacement, documenting processes, or providing guidance on ongoing projects.

🔷Express Gratitude:
Take the time to express gratitude to your colleagues, managers, and the organisation as a whole for the opportunities you've been given and the support you've received.

🔷Stay Professional:
Maintain a positive attitude and uphold your responsibilities until your last day. Your professionalism during this transition period speaks volumes about your character and work ethic.

While resigning from a role may feel bittersweet, it's also an exciting opportunity for growth and new beginnings.

How can I help you today?

How do you usually prepare for interviews?

From my experience interviewing numerous audiologists over the years, I've noticed that those who don't prepare well often come across as less committed to the role.

🔷Break down the job description and be ready to explain how your skills match what they're looking for.

🔷Tell Your Story: Share a brief, compelling story about your career journey that's tailored to the role and company.

🔷Think about potential interview questions and practice your responses to ensure clarity and confidence.

🔷Have concrete examples of your achievements, including numbers if possible. This adds credibility to your claims.

🔷Ask thoughtful questions during the interview to show your interest in the role and the company.

🔷Pay attention to your appearance and demeanour, whether it's in person or on a video call. First impressions matter.

🔷Practice positive body language, like standing tall and making eye contact, to convey confidence.

🔷Make sure your technology is working well for virtual interviews and find a quiet place with minimal distractions.

🔷On the day of the interview, take a moment to calm your nerves, be yourself, and remember that you have valuable skills to offer.

How can I help you?
