NGHỆ THUẬT CỦA CHUYỂN ĐỘNG & ÁNH SÁNG - MỘT TRIỂN LÃM ẢNH CỦA TONY NOËL TẠI PHOTO HANOI’ 25.

(English below)

MOVEMENT IS ART - A PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION BY TONY NOËL @ PHOTO HANOI’ 25.

Under the auspices of the French Institute in Vietnam, Chau & Co Gallery proudly presents the photography exhibition Movement is Art by French photographer Tony Noël, organized within the framework of Photo Hanoi '25 — Vietnam’s first international photography biennale.

Tony Noël, a French photographer from Lyon, began his artistic journey in 2016. Passionate about the art of movement and street photography, he has committed himself to these two genres since 2018, making them the central elements of his work.

Tony Noël is now a representative of major photography names, including Leica and Sigma. As the founder of the Undo Art agency, Tony has also worked closely with the Museum of Contemporary Art of Lyon, the Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon, and the Lyon Biennale, where he has created several photographic exhibitions.

Alongside his professional collaborations, Tony nurtures his passion for contemporary art by developing several personal projects simultaneously. A notable project among these is his exploration of body movement through photography, which began in 2018, culminating in Movement is Art - a series resulting from four years of dedicated research into the body, movement, and dance.

Structured into ten different chapters, the series explores a variety of visual compositions through a subtle interplay of light and shadow, celebrating the beauty of the human body in all its forms. Throughout the project, Tony collaborated with artists from various backgrounds, as well as individuals outside the art world, striving to infuse each image with a dynamic energy and unique aesthetic. This project powerfully reflects his photographic vision centered on the human body.

If light is the soul of photography, then movement is the essence of life. Tony Noël’s works thus unfold an intimate journey of inner revelation as the dancers’ bodies are liberated through passionate and sensual movements, while light and space dissolve in miniscule moments of the soul’s rhythm. The language of photography here becomes a mirror illuminating the emotional nuances within, powerfully expressed through movements of the human body.

The minimalist settings between body and space in his images, a leg and an arm stretching beyond a white frame, a piece of fabric flung upward under a narrow beam of light, a body arching in an empty room among the borders of light and shadow — evoke metaphors and contemplation of (physical) limitation and (spiritual) freedom, as well as the contrasting dual nature of life.

This exhibition is made possible with the support of Sigma, Hahnemühle & Photo Labo Pro, TiA Talent and media partner Hanoi Grapevine, will take place from November 1st to November 30th, 2025 at 61 Tràng Tiền, Hanoi.

“The great thing about water is that beyond the initial form that you photograph, you have to observe the movement and extract the most elegant shapes from it.

When we are working on a particular place, a wave, a backlight on the water, we look at what the first photos have shown, and then we see what we want to develop in the photos and highlight to come up with a subject that’s truly accomplished.”

Watch our full interview video with the photographer Eric Sanger Monteros to explore his photography work and his vision developed during the past fifteen years on the subject of water.

'Moving to France in my early thirties marked a transformative period, where I embraced a new identity as a foreigner. This transition made me aware of the singular nature of individuals, transcending the constructs of majority or minority. Incorporating nature-derived motifs into my work became a means of healing and reconnecting with the source of all living things.'

According to the National Museum of Women in the Arts, 51 per cent of visual artists today are women. Despite this fact, their work continues to be underrepresented and undervalued in various art platforms.

At TiA Talent, we are deeply concerned about gender inequity and support artists regardless of gender, cultural background, or ethnicity.

In honor of International Women's Day, let's reflect on the delightful moments from our TiA Gathering event in January, where we proudly featured two remarkable female artists, Chisato Tatsuyama and Chlo Hej.

A heartfelt gratitude to all participants for co-creating this intercultural, hyperconnected experience with us.

This week, we invite you to evoke new positive energy through the art of Jérôme Thẩm Võ Mỹ.

Jérôme Thẩm Võ Mỹ’s colorful artworks blur the boundaries between the visible and invisible. They transport the viewer into a sensitive chromatic universe, where color expresses genuine freedom and movement. Born in 1967 in Paris, Thẩm Võ Mỹ lives and works in the French capital. His studies in painting and applied arts at the Estienne School of Paris brought him closer to visual communication and abstract style. He intersects in his series of numerical images, geometric shapes such as circles, lines, typefaces, and numbers, creating vivid luminous effects. Minimal artists such as Frank Stella or kinetic art are relevant visual references. Thẩm Võ Mỹ’s artworks are autonomous pieces but they acquire value if conceived as a whole, like a hyper-saturated chromatic puzzle. Jérôme Thẩm Võ Mỹ exhibited in different art spaces in Paris. In 2022, the Galerie Electric Paris displayed his solo Chromalibre, creating a playful and dynamic visual path.

Artificial Existence

In his relentless search for the essence of human existence, Tiziano Autera breaks down our cultural constructs, plays with our visual perception and shapes experiences that make us think. In doing so, he defies existing definitions of art and combines unconventional approaches with hierarchical techniques such as cubism, which evokes in us an unprecedented feeling of non- conformity and reflects a profound personal examination of human existence.
His current picture series “Artificial Existence” consists of a series of acrylic paintings that show us strange shapes, varied colors, sensual lines and strange bodies, all of which gain meaning in an abstract or semi-abstract composition. Through his unique narrative, he lets us look into the souls of his characters, who speak to us and ask us the question about the essence of existence.

In “Artificial Existence” the view of the change in our existence is raised to the meta level using planned coincidences. On the one hand, we look at technological change in an age of increasing digitalization in which data and media determine our everyday lives. On the other hand, we see social change away from traditional role models and towards a spectrum of sexual identity. The main focus of the consideration is not social constructs or philosophical approaches, but rather the interaction of human existence and its natural environment - seen in this way, the representation of human nature from the inside out as a symbol of the change in our existence.
