Pole dancing is just like any other sport, it requires huge levels of commitment, persistence and fitness. However, we live in a society were everything a woman enjoys is considered a social taboo, so naturally, most of the people I know were shocked that I chose to practice pole dancing.

My fiancé even made me choose between him and my passion, so I chose pole dancing, and it was the best decision I ever made.

We've all heard of famous inventors like Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, but what about Ada Lovelace and Yvonne Brill?
One of these women invented the first computer algorithm, completely altering technology, and the other invented satellite propulsion, a method used to accelerate spacecraft and artificial satellites! These inventions forever changed our world, but as history shows us, female achievements are often overlooked. However, our aim is to give these women, and many others like them, the credit they all deserve, so they can inspire the next generation of girls.

I was in a relationship with a narcissistic guy and he underestimated me.
I was a fresh grad when we almost got engaged, and I wasn’t employed yet. I come from a family that has very successful women (my mom and sisters).
I wasn’t sure at that time what I exactly wanted to do with my life, but I had a dream to be a fashion designer. Back then, my family didn't support me just like him.
However, I decided to find a decent job, and I started working as an English instructor to teach adults. He was surprised in a negative way and told me how come!
‎"انتي ماينفعش حتة تعلمي اطفال"
Unfortunately I believed him because I was blindly in love, not to mention that he was my first relationship, so I wasn’t able to tell how toxic it was. Eventually, I decided to focus more and more on my career, and I started to receive positive comments from my boss and the institution was loving my work. Then, I decided to take an international certificate so I can manage to travel to Asia and teach English there. I took the certificate with high honors, and few months after I found a job in China! I moved there and made a great impression to every school I applied for to the extent that I would get accepted in any interview, and I lived there independently for two years only to come back the 3rd for the pandemic and I am waiting to go back again soon.

Since the day we began, we faced lots of struggles because we are "females". We love football, but society never took us seriously, they were always underestimating us.
In our last match with Lebanon, we won, and we were extremely happy, but the egyptian society with their stereotyping didn’t leave us alone as we were insulted in the worst ways possible.
What did we do next?
Those words drove us to work even harder, and we proved them all wrong. We decided to be an inspiration for all the females out there and we won our next match.
To all the females out there: Let their words drive you to be a better version of yourself.

I've always dreamt to continue my studies abroad, but society never allowed me because i am just a “woman”.
‎"لو كونتي راجل كنا سبناكي تسفري"
What did i do next?
I worked very hard to get high grades and earned a scholarship. My family didn’t want to give me money, so I lived independently and worked more than two jobs. I was never ashamed of the jobs I took; I worked as a housekeeper, baby sitter ,waitress, so I can afford studying abroad. I came back, and now, I work in one of the biggest advertisement agencies in Egypt just because of my hard work.
To all the girls out there: Just because it seems to be hard doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

They say we can't but we proved them wrong. Women face a lot of obstacles when it comes to their dreams but proving everyone wrong is what makes the success worth the while.

"I am a determined women "
I became responsible for my whole family at the age of 21. I had to take over the family business after my dad passed away. Because I am a "woman", many of my clients underestimated me and said things like:
‎"مين العيلة الصغيرة الي انتو جيبنهالي دي"
”هاتولي راجل اتكلم معاة"
At the beginning this destroyed me, BUT I SAID “I am a determined women and nothing can stop me". They didn't know what I was capable of, so, I worked as hard as I could to show them what I can do.
Now, the company has grown even bigger all because of me and my work. Now, they all believe in me.
To all the strong ladies out there, believe me, you can do anything at any age and nothing can stop you!

I am a rally racer and i am a women “A lot of girls ask me how I, as a female, deal with the outdoors – I tell them just like men deal with it. The outdoors is where I feel alive.”
Yara Shalaby, the first female rally champion in Egypt, tells us her incredible story.
When I was young, I was very attracted to speedy sports. I used to go to the desert on family trips, and I grew up loving everything about nature and outdoors, until one day, my friend told me that there was a rally in the desert and convinced me to apply. When i applied, I received a lot of mean and unnecessary comments just because i'm a woman,

‎"الستات مبتعرفش تسوق على الاسفلت علشان تيجى تسوق فى الصحرا" they said, but I did it anyway.
Unfortunately, I lost my first race, which made other male team members make fun of me saying:
“مش مكانك, روحىيلك مول اشترى لبس او شوفيلك حاجة البنات بتعملها, جايه تعملى ايه هنا”

However, I never gave up, and in my second race, all my efforts paid off as I came in the second place and people started noticing me as the first and only women to enter a rally race in Egypt. After this rally I got a lot of offers from sponsors, such as Toyota. Till now, I won several local and international races, and in 2016 I was crowned as the Egyptian National Champion.
With every race, I force people to respect what I do, who I am and what women are capable of.
