Field / Shop Mechanic - Full-time
Our client, a premier sewer and watermain contractor at the leading edge of the trenchless industry in southern Ontario specialize in complex high-profile projects, utilizing state of the art technology and equipment. Operating from a base is in the GTA, their works extend throughout Ontario. Over seven decades, they have become an industry leader, with a reputation for quality in underground construction.

• Work may be split between the company shops, yards and field project locations.
As a Mechanic
• your will maintain, repair and commission a wide range of equipment,
• from vehicles, to boom trucks,
• vac trucks,
• heavy construction equipment,
• micro tunnel machines,
• directional drills,
• auger bore machines,
• generators,
• welders and other related construction gear.
• You have a winning attitude
• Capable of successfully developing solutions to tough and challenging problems.
• You are an outstanding communicator, with a strong, production focused approach to safely delivering the work.
Experience with:
• Diesel and gas engines,
• heavy equipment,
• trucks and vehicles,
• hydraulic systems,
• generators,
• diesel arc welders,
• transmissions,
• steering,
• brake systems,
• ignition and electrical systems,
• cooling and heating systems,
• drive train components.
• You are able to weld and can use oxy acetylene cutting tools.
A penchant for record keeping, i.e. regular services and annual inspection requirements. You will be expected to maintain records of repairs and use electronic and computer systems to stay on top of updates.
You are a team player and able to work outdoors on construction sites.
There will be evening and weekend work requirements as the work load and urgency of repair warrants.
