Minimum Wage Update — October 1, 2026 🇨🇦

Minimum wage changes are now in effect across five Canadian provinces—Ontario, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island. For employers and HR professionals, these updates are a timely reminder to review payroll, compensation practices and employment standards compliance.

For example:
• Ontario — $17.95/hour
• Manitoba — $16.40/hour
• Nova Scotia — $17.00/hour
• Prince Edward Island — $17.30/hour

In Alberta, the general minimum wage remains $15.00/hour.

Staying current with minimum wage legislation supports accurate payroll processing, effective workforce planning and fair compensation practices.

🧡 September 30 — National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today, we honour the Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impact on Indigenous communities across Canada.

Reconciliation begins with listening, learning, remembering, and understanding the truth of our shared history.

May today be a reminder that every child matters, every story matters, and reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility that belongs to all of us.

On September 26, I was celebrating a profession that has become a true passion.

For me, HR is about people — listening, connecting, supporting growth, and creating an environment where people feel valued and empowered.
