Kirsten Milne, Lisa Brisbin and Verity McKibbon rappeled down 20 stories, facing their fears to help send kids with disabilities to camp! The Safeway Superheroes raised an incredible $2,525 for Easter Seals! Way to go Superheroes and thank you to all that donated!!

Safeway Superheroes - Kirsten, Lisa and Verity will be dusting off their capes in support of Easter Seals and participating in the Easter Seals Drop Zone event on September 8, 2014 when they will be stepping off a 20 storey ledge to show kids that they too can face their fears! Sunday August 3, 2014, SAFEWAY will once again be joining the community in the celebration of Pride. We are proud to be included in the Pride Festival where last year over 600,000 people attended the "Largest Celebration in Western Canada!"

The Safeway Pride Toonie Brigade will gather donations from the crowd along the parade route in 2 waves. The donations received fund the Pride Society and the celebrations. Last year we raised several thousands of dollars for the community and we plan to collect even more for this year! This is an open invitation for all to participate - friends and family are welcomed!

It's an amazing event and if you could spare 2.5 hours between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday August 3, 2014, please show your PRIDE and join the Toonie Brigade!

On May 25th, WNG members Christina Messinezis, Debbie Rooney, Emily Ngan and Verity McKibbon completed Woman2Warrior at Swangard Stadium raising over $1,700 for Easter Seals! Great work, Sobeys Sistas!!

Congratulations to Pam K on being promoted to Store Manager!

Pam was an (A) Store Manager since November 2011 at Store #148 in Burnaby and Store #76 in Coquitlam. Prior to that Pam was a 1st ASM at #47 Whiterock, 99 Chilliwack, 58 New Westminster and 20 Coquitlam.

Pam is very competitive and strives to be the best at everything she does and takes pride in celebrating the successes that she and #76 have experienced in the last few years.

Pam has a diverse history originally starting as a meat/deli/seafood clerk and working her way to Deli Manager and Deli Merchandiser before becoming determined to become a Store Manager.

Outside of work, Pam is an avid runner and enjoys active family time with her husband Helmut and daughter Raquel. Pam believes in the importance of a strong family base and of being there for her family as much as they have been there for her.

We wish Pam all of the best in her new assignment at Store #1!

Today we say goodbye to two members of WNG, Binder and Paula. Both Binder and Paula faced fears of the unknown when they left the comfort of their hometowns to pursue management with Safeway and move to Vancouver. We wish them the same courage and confidence as they move to a new company. We know that whatever they do and wherever they go, they lead with their hearts. As they say, some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. We are sad to see you go and wish you all the best in your future endeavours. You will be missed.
