On this journey with my mini me as she ponders her next move. We’ve driven through NC, SC and GA. This northern Mother is not feeling her baby living in the south. Seeing four confederate flags flying high along our travels (one nestled between an American flag and a flag that’s says Jesus loves us) does not help. I know racism is everywhere. I experienced it firsthand last week when a Trumpster verbally attacked me in Livingston, NJ. However, the south... will you enhance my child’s life? I’m not so sure.

Mecca is more than ready to take on the world we she graduates from high school in 2020.... I’m going to use this year to get ready myself and help her spread her wings🙏🏽😌....

Yesterday I said goodbye to one of my favorite uncles. We lost this gentle giant too suddenly and too soon. This lion/teddy bear (quoting my Uncle Richie) was so much to so many. He protected you guided you laughed at you laughed with you. Some of my best childhood memories were spent in his and my Aunt Marcella’s home with cousins. Love and laughter exuded throughout the house. He always made me feel like I was his favorite....as he did so many of my cousins. Thank you, Uncle Dan, for showing me what love looks like. Your love for my Aunt Marcella for over 50 years was a joy to witness. I am missing you terribly.

Excited about the Friendgiving we are hosting for the Boys and Girls Club of Newark (BGCN) and Treehouse Books in Philadelphia. BGCN is in need of school supplies and board games for some of their club houses and my mother is collecting books for Treehouse Books in my sister's memory.
